"Well well WELL this was another great adventure. Longer than the previous books, though. I have now finished all the HTTYD books that were available on audiobook. I'll have to put more effort into finding the books following, but that's okay. I've got time until the film premiere of the sequel in 2014."

“An engaging read; perfect for reluctant readers.”
— Barnes & Noble, editorial review" It took a good 100-120 pages to get going, which is unusual for one of Hiccup's memoirs. That said, it was worth reading until the end. "
— Nicole, 2/17/2014" I really love this series. Great boy appeal, but plenty of appeal for girls here too. Lots of humor, adventure and those great illustrations. "
— Dolores, 2/12/2014" Another fun read, though this story did have a bit of seriousness to it, too. I loved the bit about Fishlegs taking off on his own - he deserves to have his own brand of courage spotlighted instead of always being overshadowed by Hiccup. "
— H3dakota, 2/10/2014" One of the best yet. "
— Margbar11, 1/27/2014" I really like dragons.But it was kind of sad. "

— Tamar, 1/1/2014" I thought this book was a good as the rest. But nothing can beat tyhe first. "
— Ahanna, 12/8/2013" I think this book is really ausome. All of Cressida Cowell's books have been exeptionaly dangerous and have matched my personality perfectly! "
— Mustang, 12/6/2013" I've just re-read this to reboot my mind ready for book nine! This is the darkest adventure yet for Hiccup. "
— Owl, 10/31/2013" I have really enjoyed this series. I'll be sorry to see my little bookclub come to an end. "
— Margaret, 10/19/2013" These books are fun, random reading. The hero always escapes, in a very amazing way, with lots of humor and suspense. "
— Tricia, 10/1/2013" This is the best one yet!! The series gets better and better! Cant wait for the next one "
— Michalla, 9/18/2013" This is the current bedtime book w/ kids. We love the adventures of Hiccup Horrendous Haddock. Starts off with a bang; Kamikaze is missing in a storm, the Beserks are restless, and Fishlegs' unrequited crush may have all the Hooligans in trouble with the Ooglithugs. So. Awesome. "
— Charlene, 6/30/2013" A fantastic alluring book it makes me want to read more and i really wish the book went on for longer. "

— Rena, 11/21/2012" Interesting insights to Hiccup's past, but more questions are raised than are answered. As far as I can find right now, this is the last book written, although it's obviously not the end of the series, and 3 years have passed since it was published. I look forward to reading the next one(s). "
— Amanda, 9/21/2012" Well the plot if finally going somewhere, and the things seem to tie up properly now. If only the writer could churn out more books, it'd be fine. "
— Vlad, 8/1/2012" My son is obsessed with this series. After we finished reading this out loud he gave if 5 stars. And chose it for his book report. Such a cleverly written book "
— Laurie, 7/23/2012" I just love this series. I'm all set to read the next volume! "
— Ingrid, 7/16/2012" i hadnt read it yet "
