"EXCELLENT historical piece about NY, the Harlem Renaissance, African-American history. Listened to it on a 12-hour drive. It was so engaging that we barely realized we were driving. Engrossing. Also introduces Kareem Abdul-Jabbar as an historian. Avery Brooks is wonderful!"

" Semi-encyclopedic account of Kareem's interest in Harlem. Leans heavily on honorific adjectives as he describes Harlem figures. Good basketball details and excellent picture of Cab Calloway looking to play some tough D. "
