"Beautiful, touching, and sad novel about the life of the Collyer-brothers Homer and Langley in New York. Doctorow's language was amazing and the story came out as very "authentic". " — Anna-sofie (4 out of 5 stars)

" Love Doctorow, not much in this. Overhyped. "
" I liked the characters and maybe a second reading would help me appreciate it more. I cared for the brothers but felt disconnected from the story. It is like a Forest Gump saga but just didn't draw me in. "
" A book that was really 3 1/2 stars. "
" Charming, sweet, but ultimately sad. Recommended. "
" Really disappointing. Didn't need to fabricate so much of the story! "
" Started, but couldn't get through it...stalled at chapter 2 and couldn't pick it up again! "
" About two brothers and their lives in NYC throughout several world events. Sort of like Forrest Gump, but very sad and dysfuntional. Interesting. "
