" I read this in spite of the title and really enjoyed it. Fun characters and interesting plot line. "

" RFL 2012 I really didn't think I would like this one because there is often a scary book on RFL, but this is not scary. It's about necromancers and werewolves and witches and has a girl's talking severed head being carried around in a bowling bag, but I found it entertaining in a twisted way. It reminded me so much of a tamer Christopher Moore with all of the weird eccentric undead type of things but not the over-the-top sex and vulgarity. "

" Loved this book! It was so much fun to read! It was funny and had an awesome story to go with it. "

" I didn't like this book to begin with. I have a problem with a talking severed head, but I know my students will love it. It is kind of like the Vladamir Tod series. It has an older lead character who finds out that he is a necromancer whose powers have been bound. It has some adventure and fighting that I know my guy students will like. Overall, a boy book that needs to be in the middle school library. It will definitely leave the shelves. "

" This book has a bit of everything: humor, horror, action, romance, and even a few heartfelt moments. This is one I'll be putting into my book talk rotation. "

" This was a hilarious black comedy - perfect for anyone with a slightly morbid sense of humor who also likes 'guy' books! It's gory and gross in places, but not gratuitous. My favorite character was the talking severed head. 'Nuff said. "

" Another 3.5. I've been reading a lot of 3.5s lately. I liked the Buffy-esque quality of this one. As an audiobook, I strongly preferred one narrator over the other, so that whenever the weaker of the two was on, I found myself thinking, "Ugh, go back to the other guy!" "

" In general I liked it. An interesting twist on what you think you might know about paranormal and their society within our society. But this was a bit too descriptively dark for me though still an interesting read. "

" Loved it! This book is like a fun guy movie - a roller-coaster ride adventure through a paranormal/horror world. Add latent necromantic powers, a really evil bad guy, and a hawt were-chick, and you have a recipe for some great action! "
