"This is one of Lovecraft's more quick paced stories. While its not a sprinter, the action doesn't drown in Lovecraft's tendency to over-elaborate. However, the language is still as beautiful as a reader would expect from Lovecraft, the mood is there and it's great for a pre-Halloween read."

" Very funny, by classic Poe-type author. Concise and much easier to read than a lot of Lovecraft's works. Fans of the movie should check this out, as the plot differs quite a bit. My favorite phrase is "corpse of a doubtful vintage". Hilarious. "
