Sometimes the biggest ripples come from the smallest events. Like the day that Emma Guthrie, drop-out college student walks into world-famous movie star Garrett Walker's trailer, and walks out on her way to becoming Mrs. Emma Walker, wife of an A-list actor. With her husband's encouragement, Emma pens a screenplay based on her life, which becomes a blockbuster sensation. Through it all, Garrett is her ally and her mentor...until Emma discovers an incriminating text message on Garrett's cell phone. Devastated, Emma flees New York City for a sleepy coastal town in Mexico where no one recognizes her. Here, she meets Ben, who teaches her about the healing powers of surfing and ultimately opens her up to the possibility of love.

"I loved this first effort by Katie Lee formerly Katie Lee Joel about a PA who marries a movie star and then finds out seven years later, he has cheated on her with her best friend. It's nothing spectacular, but I enjoyed the fast pace after reading a lengthy novel so I might have awarded an extra star just for that. If you like contemporary chick lit, this is a good one for you."

" Pure fluff but if that's what you're looking for it's good for a day at the beach. "
— Mary, 2/10/2014" Twaddle and fluff. How do less-than-average storytellers get book deals? "
— Kendra, 2/5/2014" This was a quick read. A decent summer read. I did like the main character but this book didn't really fully develop any of the characters. It was Bam, Bam, Bam with the plot. Girl is swept off her feet, a number of years later disaster strikes, then she learns to love again. It was good though, great if you don't have a lot of time to read. "
— Samyra, 2/1/2014" Very good read !! It only took me a day and half to read !! "
— Wendy, 1/26/2014" Great story takes place in NY and Long Island and many other great locations... good characters great beach read ...great story that every one can relate to "
— Laurie, 1/21/2014" Fluffy reading with a fairy tale ending, but always nice to read these every once in a while. Very quick read. "
— Lauren, 1/19/2014" I got this book in a swag bag and read it only because I didn't have any other books I hadn't read in my apt. It took me appoximately 4 hours. It is a fantastic beach read, very entertaining (if not basically vapid) and I would recommend it to anyone who has a few hours to kill. "
— Lindsay.lewis, 1/13/2014" Couldn't put it down. Great choice for the book of the month! "
— Stella, 1/12/2014" This was a perfect read after finishing "We Need To Talk About Kevin". The story and characters kept me entertained and interested in them from start to finish. "
— Shannon, 1/1/2014" A quick, light, and enjoyable book written by the ex-wife of Billy Joel. This rags to riches story of self-discovery is divided into two parts: the beginning of the protagonist's relationship with a famous actor and the end of their relationship. My recommendation: take this one to the beach! "
— Ehbooklover, 12/27/2013" I did enjoy the insider's view of the industry and the characters were likeable enough, but I think this was too fluffy and self-indulgent. I was excited to read this because I have always liked Katie Lee but I was disappointed there wasn't more depth to the love story. "
— Jessie, 12/24/2013" an anthology of 2008 technologies. really cool to read since I knew a few peeps in the book -- then again I realized they mispronounced his name in the book. bummer. anyway, good history lesson for the time but it's been surpassed by more of timely research from Forrester and other sources. "
— Jim, 12/17/2013" Great book...fast paced and fun to read by the pool. "
— Sara, 12/6/2013" Probably one of the best chick-lit books I read in a long time. A perfect beach read or outdoor, sitting on the grass kinda book. The ending came a little quick, and I wish there was more surfing but it was still great. A quick, easy, and satisfying read. I hope Katie Lee continues writing! "
— Charmonair, 12/6/2013" Beach read or better yet...airplane read. "
— Alana, 11/11/2013" I wasn't really sure if I would like the book, but I won it from a website. I really enjoyed it, though. The main character is likeable and grows. The book is kind of short, and her relationship with Ben is a little rushed. I enjoyed the book and read it in one day to find out what would happen! "
— Natasha, 10/22/2013" Meh. Ok beach read. Summer fluff. I just wish they didn't put the entire story on the inside jacket. "
— Shelli, 9/28/2013" 3+ stars. I enjoyed this book for what it was - a fast-paced trashtastic beach read. Recommended to those that need a quick little escape. I would check out future reads by Katie Lee. "
— Shannon, 6/4/2013" Perfect afternoon beach read! "
— Tate, 2/17/2013" Cute, easy read. Perfect beach book. "
— Sara, 2/17/2013" The writing was overly simple, but the story was compelling and beachy. Perfect summer read. Brain candy. "
— Holly, 10/21/2012" Good mindless beach read. I'm always a sucker for a happy ending! "
— Sandy, 4/27/2012" This book is perfect for the beach. It's a very quick and easy read. The main character is very likable, she's somebody that I would like to be more like. My only complaint about the book is how predictable it was. Still, it is perfect for kicking back by the pool. "
— Amber, 11/19/2011" What a good book! "
— Cyndi, 8/17/2011" It was a love story. It was predictable but fun. I enjoyed it and really was a quick read. I liked the characters, it could have used a bit more depth, however, good overall. "
— Karen, 7/25/2011" Totally fun for the beach. "
