"This was an extremely quick and entertaining read. I loved the balance of action and sci-fi-ness...this book kind of reminded me of Firefly. The characters were all intriguing and although the ending was abrupt, it was very good. I haven't read something so much fun in awhile. "

" I sure didn't think much of this in the beginning, but it really grew on me. I partially blame the rocky start on the fact that I dug into it at work and was distracted frequently by the wackiness that ensues there, so again and again I had to reread what I had just covered because it didn't absorb. Jax was almost TOO sassy though, if that can be a thing for me, and it kept me from really getting into the dialog. She was like a more extreme version of Sookie - and I fell out of love with Sookie a long time ago. That said, I enjoyed the creativity of the world (though I still don't understand what Grimspace or jumping actually are) and by the end I was racing to finish. Smut almost always wins me over, and there was good smut! There's something to be said for a quick and enjoyable read that doesn't make you think too much - especially after slogging through a book as intense as Mists of Avalon. "
— Stephanie, 2/4/2014" All I gotta say is, once I got a ways into this book, the thought I had was "Firefly." I'm not sure why. Maybe I just miss it, but the crew reminded me of the crew from the Serenity. "
— Sara, 1/8/2014" Fun, fast-paced space opera for "Firefly" fans (especially women), with a great romance plot. "
— Stephanie, 12/15/2013" A little frenetic, with a lot happening in a very short period of time. But good - I'll be reading the next one in hopes that the pace will slow just a bit. "
— Heather, 12/7/2013" now I'm a sience fiction fan ;D "
— Buecherwurm, 11/14/2013" I enjoyed this book even though it borrowed from Sci-fi movies. "
— Lisa, 4/18/2013" Wow really regretting not picking this up before now absolutely wonderful "
— Sarai, 3/20/2013" I love finding a new series with a heroine who is smart, funny and feisty. Looking forward to reading Jax's next adventure! "
— Judy, 2/24/2013" bad fit of sci fi and romance. doesn't really work. "
— Kalima, 11/2/2012" I liked this book more than expected, really enjoyed everything about it, the characters, world, & storyline. Cannot wait to read more of the series! "
— Laura, 7/19/2012" Reads like Firefly fan fiction to me. "
— Emily, 5/10/2012" The plot zips along, the writing is clever and tight, and the "angry young woman" heroine is leavened with wit and intelligence. Great fun. "
— Elizabeth, 6/21/2011" I didn't care for this book at all. I couldn't even get past the first couple of chapters. "
— Adam, 5/22/2011" Super entertaining. If you enjoy Linnea Sinclair' work or the Star Doc series I recommend giving this novel a whirl. Did think it could have ended a little sooner than it did, kinda dragged a little at the end. But, pretty cool start to the series. 4 1/2 stars. "
— Sarah, 4/23/2011" Cool idea, great execution, good crossover fantasy appeal, but I just couldn't care about the characters. I wanted to like this more than I actually did. "
