"Sarah Palin is a good writer. She has a very interesting, down-to-earth way of presenting her story. Her method of writing is simple and laced with humor, along side of the realism she presents in her personal and professional life. Politics aside, she's a woman after my own heart. Simple, honest, direct, down-to-earth, people-oriented views, instead of overthrowing integrity (not to mention the "little guy") for a paycheck and/or power. No one can dispute her priorities ... family-oriented first, love for her state second, and politics third. As one viewpoint said, it's not about politics (on either side), it's about DOING. Take a look at her record as governor, and see what she's DONE. If you can read with an open mind, I recommend this book."
— Jane (5 out of 5 stars)
“Truly one of the most substantive policy books I’ve ever read”
— Rush Limbaugh" Actually quite eye opening about the behind the scenes of running for Vice President. She has done some pretty good things for Alaska. Still think she is a bit off, not presidential, but misrepresented a bit. "
— Trisha, 2/18/2014" Fascinating insight.... "
— Jb, 2/16/2014" An interesting read. It definitely shows how ugly things can get in national politics, so that made it a difficult read as well. I came away impressed with Sarah Palin's record of service on the state and local level in Alaska but frustrated at how poorly the McCain campaign was managed in 2008. "
— Manda, 2/14/2014" Enjoyed this book very much. Quite impressive what a regular mom is able to do, if so moved. The first part of the book moved slow but then really had me page turning later on. "
— Tina, 2/1/2014" I am impressed with her writing and her drive. She certainly got the raw end of dirty politics during her run as Vice-President. I especially liked her recap of what being a conservative is. I am tired of the way the country is heading and what politics has become. "
— Loretta, 1/19/2014" Might be useful as emergency toilet-paper. "
— Dada, 12/20/2013" gotta beat her marathon time! "
— Carrie, 12/13/2013" I listened to this as a book on tape in a long car trip...Sarah Palin actually did the recording! I loved hearing her insights about the campaign and esp. her Katie Couric interview. "
— Alice, 11/30/2013" A engaging story from a fascinating woman. It only begins to drag when she gets into the tenants of her off-kilter world view. "
— Robert, 11/29/2013" I didn't have high hopes for this book, but I must admit: I am impressed. Her attitude about the birth of her son with Down's Syndrome makes me proud to be a Christian. While I can't agree with her on every issue, I do admire her standing for her principles. "
— Jonny, 10/24/2013" What I learned from this book is that Palin is even dumber than I thought. And I REALLY didn't think that was possible! "
— Chuckles, 9/27/2013" A fairly typical political memoir, and as has been the case for some decades for this genre, the writing is breathless and even mawkish. Its usefulness comes from its non-media perspective. "
— David, 8/20/2013" I thought Sarah Palin was way too self-serving, & didn't really feel like an honest look at herself. "
— Rachelle, 6/13/2013" Another book I found impossible to put down. Even my mom read it, and she finished it in a day! A look at the back story of Palin's 2008 VP run, from the perspective of one of the most engaging and controversial conservative public figures in American politics today. "
— Suggesteds, 4/8/2013" I can tell its very one-sided by how candy coated it is...but its great to hear about the REST of her life, that she wasnt just born into VP Candidacy "
— Lisa, 12/7/2012" I found this book fascinating. I think it's important to see what she has to say about herself, given that we have heard so much about what other people have to say about her. I have to say I have respect for her "
— Shelly, 7/26/2012" I'm on the second CD "
— Laurie, 5/13/2012" Interesting. The beginning & middle were better than the last third. By the end I felt it was nothing more than snapping back at her critics from the 2008 campaign. "
— Christy, 3/10/2012" I'm not a fan of Palin but I find her fascinating. I found this book to be a fairly believable account of her side of the story. I didn't find the whole book interesting which is why I gave it 2 stars for "ok." "
— Libster, 1/14/2012" I enjoyed this book. It wasn't as dry as you might think, and I think she explained some of her decisions pretty well. "
— Jamie, 11/3/2011" I enjoyed this book. It gave some insight into the behind the scenes working of the political process. "
— Barbara, 6/4/2011" A good insight into Sarah's life. "
— Cactuskid2, 5/21/2011" I read this when it first came out. Such a great book. "
— Sarah, 5/14/2011" I bought it mainly to show support at a time when she was getting hated on for being human. If you followed the presidential campaign in 07/08 this is very insightful. "
— Hugo, 4/25/2011" Not bad if you're interested in Sarah Palin's version of the events of what happened in the '08 campaign for president. I like her and I liked this book. I believe she set the record straight. This book held no major revelations, however, if you already believed in her character and sincerity. "
— Chris, 4/21/2011" I enjoy reading about strong, outspoken women with moxie. I want to be one when I grow up. "
— Gina, 4/19/2011" Really enjoyed getting a much better understanding of who Sarah is and how growing up in Alaska makes her who she is today. "
— Margery, 4/9/2011Sarah Palin is the former governor of Alaska and the author of the number one New York Times bestselling memoir Going Rogue.
