Publisher Description

New York Times best-selling author Simon R. Green has crafted numerous acclaimed science fiction and fantasy novels, including Blue Moon Rising, Blood and Honor, and Shadows Fall. In this first installment of the Ghost Finders series, JC Chance, Melody Chambers, and Happy Jack Palmer are agents of the Carnacki Institute-a place where the sole purpose is to "do something" about ghosts. But what exactly? Lay the spirits to rest? Send them along their merry way? Or maybe just kick some goulie butt?

"Mr Green has such an ironic sense of "décalage", I cannot help loving his books. This one is fun, with a good splash of sarcasm and irony. "

" Narrator quite good except for pronouncing coax as to lure something out of hiding as two syllables-- co-ax like coaxial cable. This is the start of a new series and Green is, as he tends to be, over the top with his bizarrely convoluted cultural references. Buckets of gore. "

" The dialogue was fantastic and witty, however the prose was a little dry. So I ended up loving half the book, and hating half the book... I will probably give it a second chance and read book 2 but I am not holding out much hope. Which is sad because I really did find the dialogue amusing. "
