In this breathtaking volume, Genghis must act when trouble brews west of the Mongolian plains. Dividing his army and using his sons as generals, he sets out to accomplish two important goals-conquer those who resist, and determine which son should succeed him.

"i found this book to be surprisingly enjoyable. by just the typeface on the cover, i had judged it to be grishamly predicatable and over-dramatic, with non-interesting writing. why did i buy it? because i finished my book too quickly on my last trip and the schipol airport has a lot of english books, but most of which i have already read or have zero interest in. i'm happy to report that i was quite wrong about this one, and i have already checked out the first book in the series from the library."

" I have read all of the Caesar and Genghis series. I continue to be rewarded by Iggulden's masterful writing. I liked this book the least of the three Genghis books. I think I was overwhelmed by the never ending wars and killing. The Arab factor was what really made this book come alive for me. What an amazing period of history. "
— Charlene, 2/20/2014" At this point I'm really only sticking around because I want to hear about Kubla Khan. "
— Becca, 2/18/2014" If this book doesn't have you riding a pretend stallion around the house, doing the Gangam style and whooping blue murder at the top of your lungs, then nothing will... "
— Ditio, 2/12/2014" This series is one I could listen to again and again. I have listened to the fisrt 2 twice already and will listen to this one again before the 4th comes out. I hate to see it come to an end. "
— Cindy, 1/30/2014" good book but ran out of steam and never finished. A normal MO for me and series. Once I think they are predictable I lose interest. "
— Chris, 1/27/2014" This series is wonderful. Conn Iggledon propells you into the life of the Mongolian warrior and you are part of the story. "
— Jane, 1/26/2014" Enjoyable and enlightening. "
— Jack, 1/13/2014" this was the third book in the seires of genghis khan. it is about the mongol envasion of the islamic parts of asia. the large empire goes through its first rough patch in its short but powerful reign.it its a great and adventures novel to read for people that like bookson history "
— Daniel, 12/28/2013" found this book on a shelf in a hotel in costa rica, and it became my beach read. bloody wars, obstinate men, conquest. very satisfying reading for vacation. "
— Dan, 12/17/2013" This is the 3rd book in the Conqueror series about Mongol conquest and I was a bit disappointed. It carried on the theme of the previous 2 books but that was the issue, just more of the same. I will read book 4 but I am going to take a break from the series for a bit. "
— Earl, 12/5/2013" It's a good thing this was a trilogy as this book was when I started to get bored. It seemed that the larger Genghis' empire became, the smaller a character he was in his own story. This book was more about the people around Genghis than Genghis himself. "
— L., 11/28/2013" Found this one a bit heavier going than the first 2 but think that could have been me and not the book. Still an enjoyable read. "
— Pauline, 8/25/2013" This is one of many of Conn Igguldens books I have read and all of them so far have been brilliant. I enjoy the fact that much of the story is linked to known historical events. If I have to read history this is the way I want to read it. "
— Rick, 7/22/2013" I enjoyed this escapist adventure book. Intriguing, kind of historical and full of battle scenes. "
— Bob, 2/11/2013" Excellent that Iggulden knows how to tell a story, genghis would be proud of him i'm sure. "
— Kyle, 5/28/2012" Excellent read - Iggulden keeps the story moving & captures you - the series is very good "
— Dmcconkey, 3/5/2012" The conclusion to a wonderful trilogy "
— Rirza, 2/11/2012" I would have loved if maybe Jochi's own son had appeared with golden eyes just like Genghis'. That would've thrown him. "
— Tuuli, 12/22/2011" Actually think this on is slightly weaker than Wolf of the Plains and Lords of the Bow, but I've still got half the book to go... "
— Philip, 5/23/2011" The end of the Genghis trilogy. I enjoyed all of them including the afterwards which explained the historical facts included based on the oral history of the Mongols. "
— Stephanie, 4/18/2011" Great historical writer with another in the Mongol empire series. "
— Joe, 4/14/2011" Bone of the hills, the third in the Genghis series is a wonderful book about the history of Genghis Kahn. I decided to read this book because of my love of history and battles. I really liked this book because it is brilliantly written and very descriptive. "
— Laurence, 3/13/2011" this was the third book in the seires of genghis khan. it is about the mongol envasion of the islamic parts of asia. the large empire goes through its first rough patch in its short but powerful reign.it its a great and adventures novel to read for people that like bookson history "
— Daniel, 2/27/2011" I'd recommend the series to my friends, yet would have liked to have seen some variation to the storytelling style as things progressed. I suppose it was true to the character of the peoples being chronicled. Still, it started to wear on me. "
— Phil, 2/10/2011" found this book on a shelf in a hotel in costa rica, and it became my beach read. bloody wars, obstinate men, conquest. very satisfying reading for vacation. "
