Publisher Description

Seven years ago, a chemical spill brought the U.S. Army to rural Penn County, Iowa, where soldiers established a long-term, medically maintained quarantine. Officially, it’s called the PennCo Containment Area. But to the people trapped inside, their bodies tainted with chemicals that give off a sweet smell, it’s known simply as Flowertown.

The quarantine was supposed to save their lives, but many of the survivors have grown suspicious of the government’s real motives. But not Ellie Cauley—her rage long ago burned down to hard, cynical pessimism. When a series of deadly events forces Ellie out of her apathy, she must prepare to face an enemy powerful enough to unleash her greatest nightmare.

"I'm not usually into conspiracy thrillers, but there was something about this book description that made me want to read it. Probably because it was set in Iowa and I lived there for forever before moving to where I am now. This is a book that makes you think about something like this really happening, and with all the chemicals out there, it's certainly a believable scenario. This book had me guessing and speculating 'til the end about who the good people were... and weren't. I enjoyed the writing. I liked Ellie's toughness and how she stood up for what she believed in and wasn't afraid to kick some ass along the way. Good, intriguing read."

" I really liked this book except for the ending. There was just no resolution for me a the end. I would read a sequel. "

" I gave this book two stars because I honestly thought "it was ok." Perhaps this wasn't really my type of book as I see a lot of others really liked it. The story played out in my mind like a made for TV thriller. It was entertaining, but I wanted more out of it. Maybe if I shared some of what the main characters were smoking I'd have appreciated it more...? "

" Pretty good book. Liked the story and character development, however I think the author could have probed deeper into the main character. I'd definitely recommend it and reread it. "

" The ad for this book popped up on my kindle over the Summer and on impulse I read the description. It seemed right up my alley. I absolutely love conspiracies. This book definitely was everything I was hoping it would be. Can't wait for a sequel!! "

" I wish I could have given this 3.5 stars because it was a good book, just not 4 stars good (IMHO). I just thought the profanity was excessive and the story took too long to get interesting. That said, when it all starts to come together you can't put the book down! "
