Publisher Description

In the dark, fear and desire are one...

Alexander Roman wants nothing to do with the controlling rulers of his vampire breed or the family he escaped from a hundred years ago. But as a new threat to the pureblood vampires emerges, Alexander's ties to the past are forced upon him again, and without warning, he finds himself—disoriented, terrified, and near death—at the door of a stranger.

Dr. Sara Donahue is dedicated to removing the traumatic memories of her patients—like those of the stranger at her front door. But what he tells her of his past is too astonishing to believe. Yet she has seen his flesh scarred by the sun and witnessed his inhuman strength. And never before has she felt so connected to a man...

But as their worlds collide, Sara and Alexander are bound by something stronger, as one becomes hunter and the other, prey.

"I loved this book. I can't wait until I can get my hands on the next one. It can't get here fast enough. I find that I enjoy the book more the second time I read it. The first time I want to read it as fast as I can so then I know what happens. But the second I just enjoy the read. "

" unfortunately, i don't remember this whole book b/c when i tried to read it recently, thinking it was new, i realized that i had read it before. since i didn't reread the whole thing. i'm going to base this off of what i remember and that is that it was just ok. "

" I can't be 100% sure about the rating on this book. I listened to it on audiobook and the reader, while good in some ways, was a very proper sounding woman. So when she said the f word and the c word, it sounded forced and unnatural. If I had read the book instead, I might have thought differently but I can't say for sure. If I go on to the next book, I'll read it and not listen to it. "

" I had a hard time with the romance in this book. I personally would never be ok with the "C" word being used in the context this author uses it. Chicks fighting with each other, or a guy just being a complete ass I can handle, but not like this. Other then that the story was good. "

" There was nothing really wrong with this book, I just think that after reading both BDB and Midnight Breed series, I kinda knew where this was going. Going to carry on with the series to see if it comes into its own. On the plus side it's a quick read. "

" I had a really hard time deciding a rating for this book. I love the story, I love the characters, It left me interested in the next book but not dying to read it. You'd think I'd give it more than three stars but the c word was tossed around way too much and I just couldn't get over that. I realize the are rough and tough guys but you know what, I've read a lot of books about rough and tough guys and that word has not come up in any of them. I hate the word, I know I'm not alone in this. So anyway, I can't go over three stars. Call me a prude, I don't care! "

" It was alright. Good writing but there was not enough back plot to accurately describe her world. Had to try and pick up the rules of her supernatural characters as you went and it detracted from the story. Probably wont read the rest of the series unless i am bored. "

" Not that great of a book. The story is the same recycled story. No orginality and very predictable. Vampire meets girl, girl saves vampre, vampiresaves girl, vampire refuses to admit he loves girl and then they are mates. "
