Publisher Description

The one of the first European novels, and one of the greatest, is a marvelously comic study of delusion and its consequences: Don Quixote, the old gentleman of La Mancha, takes to the road in search of adventure and remains undaunted in the face of repeated disaster.

"Entertaining book, although I found my mind wandering during part 1 with its long and usually boring discourses. I'm glad i decided to push forward with the book as the second part was very good, with don Quixote being the brunt of a number of jokes. It was fun following the two nutcases on their adventures as they brought about their own misfortune. If you have the time and patience, this is a very good read."

" A sprawling, digressive and unclassifiable book that has its most famous scene in the first few pages. Widely held as the greatest novel ever, it is certainly worth attempting, even though you will sometimes have to check the cover to remind yourself which book you are reading - it really does bring you off in that many tangents. " This old tale reads at times like a Monty python skit and at others on the side of seriousness. I feel I have developed a love hate relationship with this tale because of its high highs and its low lows. Nonetheless great book , if your into classics give it a go otherwise it's probably not for you. "

" This is one of the best books I have ever read. It's amazing how funny this is for being so old, and I really like the style of the whole thing, including the books within books, the random stories, and especially the breaking of the 4th wall in the second part. Take that, other shitty author. "

" Truthfully I couldn't read it so I listened to it on audio! It is a classic but I got tried of the same thing happening over and over. The beginning and the end was the best part for me becuase it was different from the same old story. "

" Fun book despite its length. I still think that the encapsulated 'Tale of Foolish Curiosity' is in itself a curious inclusion and should've been a separate book. This is the fable that introduced the world to the now famous term "Lothario". "

" This translation is fantastic. So much detail and historical facts added. Made this read very enjoyable. But I do have to mention that the second book (second half of this book) isn't as great as the first. "
