"This is one of my all time favorite picture books. It is hilarious to all ages because of the facial expressions of the pigeon in the book. He is trying to get the reader to let him drive the bus and it is very interactive by giving the reader a chance to answer him if they so desire. The pigeon goes insane trying to beg you to let him drive it. He is expressive and entertaining. The illustrator did a wonderful job bringing the pigeon to life in that sense."

“This picture book demands audience participation…Readers will identify with the pigeon themselves!”
— Bookseller" Very funny! But my kids wanted to let him drive! :-) "
— Dr., 2/12/2014" Very persistent pigeon - never give up! "
— Anita, 2/11/2014" I know it's a a picture little kid book but who doesn't love them once and a while!!!!! "
— Caitlin, 2/3/2014" This is a great book that engages students immediately. The pictures are relateable to children and would be easy for students to draw as a way to engage in the story and feel involved. The story also leaves space for students to respond. This is a great way for students to experience literature and practice response in a grand conversataion. "
— Amy, 1/27/2014" Great for a read aloud!! "
— Nicole, 1/22/2014" I absolutely love this book and all that ones that follow it. The illustrations are hysterical. "
— Avahra, 1/15/2014" I love books that make the child answer back. "please can I drive the bus?" "NO!!". Awesome. "
— Kim, 1/14/2014" Love this series of books! My son gets so animated while reading them "
— Sheila, 1/11/2014" If you've got toddlers/early readers, you have to read this series. My daughter and my nieces have loved them all. My daughter is rewriting them so now it's, "Don't Let the Flowerpot Drive the Bus!" and all sorts of silliness. They're a great series and, as an adult, so much fun to read to her. "
— Victoria, 12/14/2013" After I read this I really didn't think it had a purpose. But upon a further look it actually teaches kids how to think and make a good moral decision despite someone trying to make them do the opposite. I'd recommend K-2 for this book. Also could be used to show emotions with art as well. "
— Benjamin, 12/6/2013" Pigeon wants to drive the bus. Picture Book "
— Amy, 12/1/2013" Don't Let the Pigeon Drive the book is an amazing fictional book which is very imaginative while funny as well. It'll encourage the students to use their imaginations and come up with their own funny stories as well. "
— Ashley, 10/3/2013" Ha-lar-i-ous! Awesome voice! "
— Kathryn, 7/27/2013" This picture book is written for primary grades. The illustrations are hand drawn pastels. the words on the pages are hand-written as well. It captivates the reder by asking questions and little kids would answer to them. It doesn't have much of a plot, but the pictures are great. "
— Ivano, 4/28/2013" What a treat, I found a Spanish version at the library! I'll read this a couple times, transcribe it and eventually check out the English version soon. "
— Vee, 1/6/2013" My daughter thought this was hysterical! She keep giggling saying "Birds can't drive!" I thought it was okay... but again, my kids reactions to books I read them weigh as heavy as my own reactions. "
— Jessica, 12/18/2012" My favorite kids book of all time. I love you Pigeon. "
— Angie, 12/16/2012" simple, yet gets the point across...anything that makes my girls laugh out loud deserves 5 stars :) "
— AGM, 12/12/2012" Another great Mo Willems book. This book can be used to help with speech bubbles like most of his books. "
— Alisha, 12/7/2012" A cute, funny book with wonderfully simple but hilarious illustrations. "
— Sheri, 8/14/2012" Mo Willems books are amazing. The pidgeon's story is funny for children. "
— Ali, 7/17/2012" This book allows students to get involved in the reading and answer "no" when the pigeon keeps begging to drive the bus. He knows he is not supposed to drive the bus, but thinks he can get away with it. Students could draw the pigeon and come up with their own story line for the pigeon. "
— Michelle, 5/21/2012" Pigeon asks if he can drive the bus. Students love pigeon's begging and pleading. "
— Roxanne, 4/21/2012" Love this book. Bought it to share with my kids at work and laughed my ass off when I first read it. Funny for kids and adults! "
