"I just loved this book! At first the authors style of writing threw me as it is told in short chapters with the character's name at the top so that you knew which point of view was being told. But it was really fascinating as you continued to read and the plot unwove itself one strand at a time. Its a small time town with a sad story that comes to light slowly as you hear it from each character's perspective. This was a book where I truly did not see it coming until I read it- the author got me twice with 2 curve balls- loved it. It was a little slow to get into at first , but I really believe that if you hang in there and see it to completion you will be surprised at the complexity and beauty of the story."

" Very good story. I had it figured out early in the book, but it kept me interested, and I liked how it ended. "
— Linda, 2/17/2014" A strange book at first but it really grabbed me and couldn't wait to see what would happen to each character...a surprise ending! Still thinking about it. "
— Jane, 2/11/2014" Somewhat interesting plot until close to the end the story suddenly turns into Shutter Island. "
— Ashley, 1/30/2014" I would give this book more stars if they were available. An intricately woven plot! "Ruthie" one of the characters shared wisdom that requires extra pondering. "
— Valerie, 1/18/2014" This was a page turner. It was very hard to put down. I loved the way the author developed the story in this book. Can't wait to read this authors next book. Reminds me of Charles Martin's style of writing. "
— Sheryl, 1/8/2014" So there were a few minutes that I felt like the author packed too much of a message in some of the dialogue, BUT I still loved it . . . the twists and turns, the sacrifice, the love, the suspense. It was good. "
— Marlo, 1/3/2014" Loved the ending! There was no way I could have seen that coming. "
— Tracy, 11/22/2013" I loved this book from the first page. Ending was a little quick - that is my sole criticism. It was a page-turner, but I had to slow myself down to enjoy the depths of this book. "
— Alicia, 11/9/2013" If you like books that have a MAJOR twist at the end, this is a book you have GOT to read! Dogwood ends and leaves you paging through the book again and re-reading parts. A must read. "
— Deb, 10/6/2013" Awesome! Engrossing with a very surprise twist ending. You think you may know the surprise twist... But you don't! "
— Christina, 9/25/2013" I generally would not even finish a book that would earn such a low rating, but this one is such a quick read I decided to get through it. The story idea is fine, and there are some interesting twists to the plot, but it actually reads like an outline of the novel the author is planning to write. "
— Debbie, 6/21/2013" Listened to the audio of this book. It was interesting listening but the ending was really lame. I'm sorry, but the whole book was pretty confusing. I listened while exercising and doing housework, but I could have found a better choice. "
— Margaret, 5/11/2013" I need something lighter... "
— Andrea, 5/6/2013" This book was one of those you want to find out what is going on so you can't put it down but when you are done you feel like wth just happened. It was...odd at the end. "

— Sheila, 10/29/2010" I thought it was a great book. I had a hard time putting it all together at first and was very concerned about the nature of the way a man felt about a married woman througout the course of it. But at the end everything came together nicely and I really enjoyed the read. "
