"This was one of the better Doctor Who books I've read. It functions perfectly as these books should. It takes a concept not fully developed in the television show and brings it to its fullest potential. The Autons were a perfect subject since they were not all that splendid in the episode "Rose" in Season 1. Another joy of this book is how well written the Tenth doctor is. All of his mannerisms jump off the page and make it easy to picture. Kate, the temporary assitant, was a wonderful choice and I wish she was on the show. The other characters, although some were more flat than others, were interesting enough to hold my attention and even invest in them. This is a great read for fans of the series."

" Set in the near future, Hyperville is the mother and father of all shopping malls, an experience so vast with restaurants, bars, casinos, cinemas and theme parks that its hotels hold the shoppers who come to stay for a week or more to get the entire experience. But something terrible is lurking under the very lowest level of the complex and the Doctor once again fights the Nestene Consciousness, a contest we have seen many times before as the consciouness takes over plastic and taps into our fear of shop dummies. Good fun and thought provoking about the seeming human love for shopping malls, which are my personal idea of hell. "

" Of all the Dr. Who books I've read, this was one of the better ones. The setting was interesting, and had different things taking place in it. The characters were believeable, especially liked Kate. This plot would have made a good episode of the TV show. "

" This was a really great read. The author had a great sense of the Tenth Doctor, though he threw in far too many pop culture references. The Doctor is infatuated with humans, but not mass media usually/. "

" Not the best Doctor Who book as some of the typical Doctor-stuff is missing and the story isn't as fast as it should be. But it is entertaining, the Doctor is brilliant once again and the story is - as always - a new and fascinating one. "

" The Nestene Consciousness returns to the most epic of shopping malls... think of all that plastic, and all those shop window dummies!! The Doctor is on his own for this one, it's a good thing that sharp thinking and fast acting Kate Maguire is around to make sure that the Doctor saves the day!! "

" My first Doctor Who novel, and it was definitely an enjoyable experience! Not the biggest fan of the Autons, but I'm definitely a big fan of the the way Daniel Blythe captured the 10th doctor's mannerisms. Looking forward to my next adventure in the TARDIS! "
