In Glory's world, different means deviant—and dead.
In a post-apocalyptic world, where the earth is buried by asteroid dust that’s mutated the DNA of some humans, an orphaned sixteen-year-old, Glory, must hide and protect her younger brother. If their Deviant abilities are discovered, they’ll be expunged—kicked out of the dome to be tortured and killed by the Shredders. Glory would give anything to get rid of her unique ability to kill with her emotions, especially when Cal, the boy she’s always liked, becomes a spy for the authorities. But when her brother is discovered, and she learns their father, who was expunged for killing their mother, is still alive, she must escape the domed city that’s been her entire world.
Outside in the ruins, they’re pursued by the authorities and by sadistic, scab-covered Shredders who are addicted to the lethal-to-humans dust now covering the planet. Glory’s quests to transport herself and her brother to safety make up the thrilling and fascinating first volume of The Dust Chronicles.

"I read this book in early draft form - it's so exciting, super emotional. A young girl who can kill with her eyes - trying to keep her secrets, her brother safe, the boy she likes from finding out the truth. It's all so good. The first in a great series!!"

" Un 3,5 en realidad :) "
— Dolo, 2/8/2014" A good sci-fy page turner. This one kept me going. "
— Christine, 2/1/2014" I thought this would turn out to be better than it was. I like that the author didn't spell EVERYTHING out for the reader, but there were times that a little more explanation would have been helpful. Also, I was hoping for a heroine who really was taking care of her brother, but half the time I feel that I was following someone who pretended to be a hero and didn't want to see the truth. So, not bad. Would I read the next book? I'd give it a shot. Would I recommend it to others? Probably not. "
— Michelle, 1/26/2014" So good!! Can't wait for the next one. "
— Jordan, 1/24/2014" I enjoyed this book, but I tire of series stories that go on and on till you get bored. "

— Paula, 1/16/2014" This reminded me a little of X-Men - along with some controlling dystopian government. Overall, I liked it, but didn't love it. "
— Jenn, 1/15/2014" Yes, another dystopian book. But unlike the others, this one was interesting. I enjoyed all the characters and the construction of the post-apocalyptic atmosphere was well developed. "

— David, 10/11/2013" The dystopian future genre is pretty full, but this book was still a good read. I had a little trouble with the main character falling so easily for the two guys, but it does stay in tune with hormonal teenagers! Lol "
— Andrea, 9/13/2013" For lovers of Post-Apocolyptic YA, this book really delivers. A strong, sympathetic heroine, a dark futuristic world and a doomed love, plus teenagers with X-men-like powers that they need to hide if they want to survive. I can't wait for the next one! "
— Elly, 9/8/2013" I just finished this book and it was great. I nice change from the everyday vampire saga. Great job. I can't wait for the sequel...... "
— Night, 7/1/2013" bad cover, good book, a very quick read, fast paced, good ending though kind of predictable, I like Burn so much better than Cal, hope she picks him eventually "
— Rachel, 2/13/2013" Rip roaring adventure. If you loved Hunger Games and Twilight, you will really love Deviants. "
