" What is it about true sadness and tragedy in fiction that attracts us? "God's Little Acre" and "Ethan Frome" being two other examples that have stuck with me over the years. Reading true sadness can be a very powerful medicine as we try to work our way through the daily grind. "

" This has been one of my favorite reads for a very long time. I love the depth and development of all the characters, appreciating the imagery laid out by O'Neill. "

" Absolutely revolting. Kind of interesting to read, though. To consume like an ungrateful cruel God. Eh'ya! "

" Dialect in "Desire Under the Elms" was distracting, and "Strange Interlude" took a while to get going, but the Mourning Becomes Electra cycle is goooood. "
