President George W. Bush describes the critical decisions of his presidency and personal life. Decision Points is the extraordinary memoir of America’s 43rd president. Shattering the conventions of political autobiography, George W. Bush offers a strikingly candid journey through the defining decisions of his life. In gripping, never-before-heard detail, President Bush brings listeners inside the Texas Governor’s Mansion on the night of the hotly contested 2000 election; aboard Air Force One on 9/11, in the hours after America’s most devastating attack since Pearl Harbor; at the head of the table in the Situation Room in the moments before launching the war in Iraq; and behind the Oval Office desk for his historic and controversial decisions on the financial crisis, Hurricane Katrina, Afghanistan, Iran, and other issues that have shaped the first decade of the 21st century. President Bush writes honestly and directly about his flaws and mistakes, as well as his accomplishments reforming education, treating HIV/AIDS in Africa, and safeguarding the country amid chilling warnings of additional terrorist attacks. He also offers intimate new details on his decision to quit drinking, discovery of faith, and relationship with his family. A groundbreaking new brand of memoir, Decision Points will captivate supporters, surprise critics, and change perspectives on one of the most consequential eras in American history – and the man at the center of events.

"I was surprised at how much I liked this book. I'm in the middle politically, I haven't loved George W and all his choices but after reading this I like him so much more. I love the way the book was laid out, it clarified many choices he made and why. I get he wrote it so it's biased, but again I really enjoyed reading it. I've recommended it to both political sides. I wish all presidents did a book this way after office."

" Great insight into the events and decisions that President Bush made and why he made them. Shows a side of him that the media wouldn't convey. "
— Kevin, 2/17/2014" It was pretty much a history and it got to be boring for me "
— Robert, 2/5/2014" Great insight into the daily life of a president and the challenges encountered while serving in the oval office. Although I already had a deep respect for President Bush, I now have a greater respect for him and his dedication to keeping our country safe from the threat of terrorism after 9/11. "
— Lisa, 1/24/2014" I enjoyed this book. Not for the prose, but the personality of the man really comes through. And I like him. It was interesting to learn some of the inside story on national and international events. During his years in office, the press was so relentless in its efforts to undermine him. It was very refreshing to at last hear his side, directly from the man, in his down-home style. "
— Duane, 1/24/2014" I did not think I was going to like this book but I did. I am not a huge George Bush fan. By the end of the book I liked the man not so much all the decisions he made as President. I respect him as a family man, and for his faith. Overall it was a good read! "
— Genevieve, 1/17/2014" Was worth the read. Bush and his ghost writers did a good job but did choose to leave out many facts relating to his economic policies and record. This would be a strategic decision point on his part to not focus on the many failings in his economic decisions. Overall, it is worth reading. "
— Reed, 1/14/2014" An interesting insight to all that goes into a president's decision...and to think some of these were going on at the same time--heavy stuff! "
— Alicia, 1/8/2014" Wonderful book!! Opened my eyes to so much...I highly recommend it!! "

— Mike, 12/6/2013" A strong presentation of his years in office. "
— The, 12/6/2013" Very enlightening encapsulation of President Bush's eight historic years. I was kind of floored with how intensely honest it was. Will definitely change your perspective (no matter what it may be) of his terms. "
— Kyle, 9/30/2013" Insightful to the character of W. Noble in that he readily admits mistakes. I was impressed with the character of the man. In terms of great autobiographies? Not so much. "
— Rico, 9/4/2013" George was not and is not perfect, but I am a supporter and would vote for him again. I appreciated his book for all to see, even if it is just his side. "
— Bryan, 7/19/2013" He explains the reasoning behind his decisions--it is very clear he did the best he could with what he had and struggled to the best--like many of us in leadership-- "
— Page, 7/4/2013" A peek into the mind of George W Bush! Yes, he has one. "
— Adebayo, 6/4/2013" Republican or Democrat every American should read to understand how our nation has evolved to this stage. Excellent read!! "

— Jeff, 6/19/2011" I don't see how you could read this book and come away hating George Bush. You can disagree with his policies, but the sincerity and true character of this man really comes out in this book. "
— Perry, 5/24/2011" Three stars because I wanted to read it, one because of the selective recall. Dubya takes a trip down memory lane with one eye closed. "
— John, 5/23/2011" This is an interesting account of the decisions that President Bush had to make about our country. "
— Matthew, 5/21/2011" Whether you like this President or not, in time he will become one of our most historic American Presidents. "
