Publisher Description

When LA's vampires, witches, and werewolves make a mess, they call Scarlett Bernard to clean it up. Her ability as a null erases all magical traces from anything - or anyone - that comes within ten feet of her, and keeps humans in the dark about the city's paranormal activity. One night when she's called to a grisly crime scene, Scarlett is spied by the all-too-human LAPD cop Jesse Cruz, who strikes up a deal with her: he'll keep quiet about the supernatural underworld if she helps him crack the case. She agrees, but the city's chief vampire, Dash, starts to suspect Scarlett is behind the murders and will reveal all she knows of his shadowy empire. Now it'll take more than Scarlett's unique abilities to clear her name, keep the underworld underground, and track down the real killer.

"I am a big urban fantasy fan, and this book blew me away. It started out interesting but had some fits and starts as it introduced the world building aspects. Then I hit around 40% of the way in, and I could not put it down until the end. Scarlett is a great main character, and I thought the supernatural elements were handled with a nice bit of realism and fantasy combined. The worst part was getting to the end, and the final plot twist, and finding out I have to wait for June for the next book!!!"

" I got this as a Kindle Deal of the Day. I was not disappointed. I really enjoyed the worldbuilding and the supernatural clean up aspect of the main character, Scarlett. I really enjoyed the banter and the love triangle. Jesse and Eli are both likeable characters, but Eli has more of that puppy dog quality, funny since he is a Werewolf. The ending was a shocker. I am looking forward to reading more from this new author! "

" Has potential. The universe of Scarlett Bernard is well conceived and the main character likeable. I enjoyed the way the narrative switched points of view between Scarlett and Jesse, finding this quite seamless within the storyline. The villain was a little two dimensional but appropriately motivated. "

" Got this book as a "daily deal" on Amazon's Kindle store. Overall, an interesting take on the whole vampire/werewolf/witches/magic mythos. I'm interested to see where she takes this character, or IF she does another book with the same characters. "

" The universe constructed is very promising and I look forward to seeing more from this author. My main problems with this book was that it bounces between points of view inconsistently. "

" Love the idea of a null, it added an extra twist to this supernatural story. I liked that Scar is a "cleaning lady" . She's not a kick ass an take names kinda girl, she's just smart with a good head on her shoulders. I will be buying the next one as soon as it comes out. "
