"I loved this 15th installment of Sarah Graves' Home Repair is Homicide series. Yes, there were certain repeated dramatic devices (ignored threats, misplaced cell phones, where did I put that gun?), but there are enough surprises with lots of action and several separate story lines converging. While there is less actual home repair as compared to some of the other books in this series, Sam appears more often as his loneliness takes him down interesting and dangerous roads. Even Victor returns, adding another level to the adventure. I finished off this book in one sitting, feeling very much like a vested member of the Tiptree family."

" wow, this has one disaster after another, it doesn't stop, and of course no one has a cell phone! And it all happens at once. I like this series, but sometimes having a bad guy after Jake or her family members gets a little tedious. I like it better if she just works on somebody else's disasters. "
— Janette, 2/5/2014" The first book I have read by Sarah Graves. I enjoyed it very much, and plan to read more. "
— Kay, 1/31/2014" This entry in the Home Repair Is Homicide series is top-notch mystery entertainment at its best. One of the things I like about Sarah Graves' series is that the quality of her entries is consistent, as well as the fact that her characters and sense of place add depth to a plot that is already quite good. This entry is definitely one of her best and has the reader turning pages and reading as fast as possible to find out what is going to happen to Jake, Ellie, Wade, Sam, Bella, and Jacob. This is a very satisfying read. "
— Nancy, 1/20/2014" This series is still light, but definitely getting darker with the last few books. This one especially. There were a few loose ends that will probably be tied up in the next book. Not too thrilled by the "ghostly sightings" - just seems out of place in this series. "
— Kelly, 1/19/2014" Series seems to get better with each book.... "
— Susan, 12/30/2013" I knew going in this was part of an ongoing series. Still, I felt very much at a disadvantage regarding the numerous main characters and their pasts. Usually the author gives you enough background (and she did give some) to make it possible to pick up in the middle of a series; but in this case it was not enough. In addition the plot was way too unbelievable....catastrophe after catastrophe after catastrophe. I doubt I will look for any of the previous titles in this series. "
— Bgrayyoung, 12/30/2013" Sarah Graves continues to take this series more toward the paranormal, and I'm okay with that. "
— Debbie, 12/23/2013" First of these I've read. It was easy to jump in, even though it's number 15. I'll read more of this series. "
— Sharon, 12/16/2013" I thought this book was good. Held my interest through out. A fast read. Murder Mystery in woods in Maine. Very folksy "
— Rick, 11/26/2013" Good mystery! Descriptions are great! Very interesting! "
— Ann, 11/21/2013" Very different than the cozies I've been reading lately, but I liked the characters, and it kept me reading right along. Might check out some other books of hers! "
— Elaine, 9/10/2013" Another suspense filled adventure in Eastport Maine! Can't wait for more~ "
— Elaine, 7/30/2013" A lot more violence than her previous books....but still good. "
— LDuchess, 2/6/2013" 3.5--a gripping read. She's doing terror really well now. I like all the strong characters. "
— Leslie, 1/8/2013" The "ghosty" slant to this series is off-putting which is too bad because the characters are good, and the repair tips are interesting. "
— Lbaker, 9/11/2012" While I've really enjoyed this series, I had a bit of a hard time following this one. "
— Wolf, 8/14/2012" Just started reading and did not realize this was book 15 in a series. But wondering: why does her ex-husband have the same last name as her father? Ex is referred to as Dr. Victor Tiptree. Is this explained in an earlier book? "
— Susan, 7/4/2012" While this was a good story, I felt there was just too much happening to each of the characters. "
— Jennifer, 6/25/2012" I discovered this Maine author quite by accident. While the plot of heroine encounters bad guy was apparent right away, how it played out was not. I will be reading more of Sarah Graves books for sure. "
— Mary, 6/16/2012" Good continuation of the series. There is a dead body - but this one is more about the characters themselves - who almost end up as dead bodies. "
— Donna, 5/27/2012Sarah Graves lives with her husband in Eastport, Maine, in the 1823 Federal-style house that helped inspire her books. This series and the author’s real-life experience have been featured in House & Garden and USA Today.
