Tall, lean and headstrong, FBI agent Kilraven lives by his own rules. And one of those rules includes keeping his hands off Jacobsville’s resident sweetheart, Winnie Sinclair, no matter the temptation. Shy and innocent, Winnie couldn’t handle a man like him — a merciless man with a haunted past. And this small town may hold not only the woman he fights to resist, but the answers to a cold case that is very personal to Kilraven.... Winnie has had her own share of sorrow and senses Kilraven’s pain. Even though she tries to deny it, the gentle 911 operator feels a connection with the darkly handsome agent. When he makes the disturbing discovery that her family’s unsavory past might have a bearing on his case, Winnie is determined to help him crack it…and the ice around his heart. As they combine forces in a dangerous investigation, the stakes rise ever higher. Winnie’s life is on the line, and she’ll need Kilraven more than ever. But if they are to have a future together, her ruthless Texan will need to confront his past and risk it all for their love.

"Good story. Lots of characters thrown at you with little description of what they look like. I like to picture characters and their environment in my head as I read and this author doesn't do that. All in all if I am looking for a good author I would read one of hers again. "

" Her best one yet. Kept me interested, laughing, crying all at once. I was really surprised at how involved I got with her characters and their problems. Well worth reading. "
— Marcia, 2/16/2014" I've been reading a lot of Diana Palmer out of boredom. And this book like every other one has the exact same plot line. Innocent heroine and less innocent hero, and one of them is always not pretty or beautiful and the male never wants to get married, and someone is always a virgin. Sorry for the run on and the spoiler, but I say skip out on all her books because you've read one you've read them all. Although I'll admit this one is minimally better than most of her others. "
— Amanda, 2/2/2014" Quite possibly the worst book I've ever tried to read. I couldn't even make it to Chapter three, and only gave it a star because I didn't want it to look as though I forgot to rate it. "
— Starla, 1/20/2014" I am always trying to find new authors and this is the first book I have read of hers. I realize that these characters have appeared previous books of hers so maybe that is why I can't get into it but I had to put it down. "
— Amanda, 1/20/2014" This book took forever to finish. Was my least favorite so far. "
— Becky, 1/19/2014" just got this on audiobook and i loverd it. "
— Veronica86, 12/16/2013" I've been disappointed with her last few books. "
— KT, 12/7/2013" I thought that some of the people involved with the book were to hard to follow. "
— Kristy, 11/25/2013" It was quick and chic lit, but disappointing an djust blah. And I guess since this is #38 in the series, it would've helped to have read the first 37. I've read a couple, but clearly not all of them. "
— Tammy, 11/19/2013" DIDN'T LIKE KILRAVEN -THOUGHT SHE WAS STUPID. DIDN'T LIKE THE BOOK. "
— Mom, 5/23/2013" I love her books maybe a little too much description but i just pass over that. "
