"It was certainly dated, but she wrote that feeling so well, the thing you try to explain to your friends and family, but can't. I thought it was a wonderful story and I've fallen for Katherine Forrest's writing."

" I recently re-read this book. It's very satisfactory. The romance in it is classic. I wouldn't say that it merits the status of "Desert of the Heart." On the other hand, if it were made into a movie I might feel differently about it. Read it. You won't be disappointed. "

" OK, it's a romance novel. A fun, steamy lesbian one--but a romance novel none the less. If you don't expect too much from it, it's a fun read. Curious Wine was evidently quite scandalous for its time (published 1983) but it almost seems quaint today. I'd recommend it for the beach. "
