In this world, humans born under especially powerful celestial alignments go on to develop abilities dictated by their birth stars as well as a guardian Constellation that manifests their powers and aids them in combat. These humans, known as Astrals, are tasked with hunting down their counterparts born under evil omens, who are destined to become cursed Dark Stars devoid of humanity and with a single minded focus on destruction. Aris is born under one of the darkest alignment of stars—Ophiuchus, the serpent bearer and harbinger of destruction. Her parents were killed when she was born, while protecting her from Astral hunters who sought to kill her before she could grow up and become an ultra-destructive Dark Star. Aris grows up without any knowledge of this side of the world…until she is hunted once again, to the surprise of the Astral hunting her, Aris suddenly manifests elemental powers as well as a constellation of her own—something that Dark Stars aren’t able to do, which make Aris an Astral. As she is pulled into this hidden side of the world, she soon discovers that the ages old tale of “good” Astrals vs. “evil” Dark Stars is not what it appears to be, and must find out her own unique position as one who straddles both sides.
