" This book was ok to me..I felt the story line was young, so it had a really difficult time keeping my attention. I also thought it went from drama scenes to drama scenes a bit too much. It was a short read though, so once I really sat down with it, I did get through it quickly. "

  • 3 out of 53 out of 53 out of 53 out of 53 out of 5 Christine | 2/17/2014

" Excellent book. Do not get this one mixed up with the other color me gray by Robinson(, which to me sounds like it is a Jerry Springer episode) which is about a woman who births twins from two different fathers. "

  • 2 out of 52 out of 52 out of 52 out of 52 out of 5 Tom | 2/14/2014

" Didn't deliver on its potential. Too much superfluous detail that bogged down the potentially good story line. "

" If I could give half stars I would have on this book, I would have given it 2 1/2 stars instead of just 2. I chose the lower status only due to the writing. I found it very informative but could tell it was not to the caliber of other writers. Now saying that, the story was very good. It was different material than I usually read but found the main female character very interesting, a little unbelievable that she has been prepared so much by her teachers, but still I enjoyed her. I will probably read the next in the chronicles. "

    " funny..strong female lead...hunger games meets Stephanie plum "

  • 3 out of 53 out of 53 out of 53 out of 53 out of 5 Lisa Thompson | 1/4/2014

" I thought the book was okay. Alex Stanton annoyed me a bit and it is hard to see her as this tough girl who has had all this military training. I may read the second and third, but not sure yet. "

" Wasn't sure if I was going to like it when I started but I thought it finished well. I will get the next two in the series.."Shades of Grey" and "Reflections of Grey". "

  • 4 out of 54 out of 54 out of 54 out of 54 out of 5 Kristina | 12/19/2013

" Very fun character and great story line. Alex reminds of what Eve Dallas from the in death series would be if she had a pampered past. Started book two can't wait! "

  • 2 out of 52 out of 52 out of 52 out of 52 out of 5 Melissa | 12/3/2013

" I really didn't care for this one...not the story, not the characters, especially Alexis. Is there anything she can't do because Mommy and Daddy's money paid to teach her EVERYTHING? She was extremely unlikable to me so I won't be reading more of this series. "

  • 3 out of 53 out of 53 out of 53 out of 53 out of 5 Leslie | 11/20/2013

" No spoilers. Good easy light read. Definitely trying to cash in on the shades of grey phenomenon with the title, but not the same kind if book at all. No literary value, but entertaining. Think of it as marshmallow fluff for your brain. "

  • 2 out of 52 out of 52 out of 52 out of 52 out of 5 Anita Kronowitz | 11/15/2013

" Quick easy read but didn't really like it enough to read the rest of the trilogy "

  • 4 out of 54 out of 54 out of 54 out of 54 out of 5 Barry | 11/13/2013

" I quick read, but an interesting Smashwords Title. I'll probably buy the next book in this series even though I believe it was more geared towards women. "

  • 2 out of 52 out of 52 out of 52 out of 52 out of 5 Kristine | 9/25/2013

" boring quick read. need to find a really good book to read. havent found one yet in 2013. "

  • 5 out of 55 out of 55 out of 55 out of 55 out of 5 Sharon Hallman | 6/24/2013

" A really fast paced story about a young rich girl joining of group of mercenaries. Very interesting and humorous Yea for a woman that compete with the big guys. Really a fun , no brainer read. "

  • 3 out of 53 out of 53 out of 53 out of 53 out of 5 Sherry | 1/23/2013

" I enjoyed this although some of what she does is unbelievable. The character is tougher than tough but still goes ga ga over a guy. Why not just tough? "

  • 4 out of 54 out of 54 out of 54 out of 54 out of 5 Dianne | 1/21/2013

" I like these easy read 'spy' books - easy to relax and enjoy. I like the way Phelps defines the personalities of the partners. "

  • 5 out of 55 out of 55 out of 55 out of 55 out of 5 Kerry | 1/2/2013

" Not what you would expect at all (i.e. I am automatically expecting something to do with THE OTHER grey books with a title such as this - therefore wall to wall sex (excuse the pun!)) so this was a pleasant surprise. I will be buying the next 2- Not too shabby! "

  • 5 out of 55 out of 55 out of 55 out of 55 out of 5 Janet | 1/1/2013

" Such a plesant surprise! This was a free ebook downlaod, so I did not have high hopes but I really enjoyed this book. Alexis might not be the most relatable person what with her wealth and skills, but she is quite likeable. "

  • 4 out of 54 out of 54 out of 54 out of 54 out of 5 Melody Anisko | 12/6/2012

" I love a book with a strong female character! This one has it. Action, Adventure, Mystery - and hints of romance to come. Can't wait to read the next one. Thank-you for a great read. "

  • 3 out of 53 out of 53 out of 53 out of 53 out of 5 Joanna | 11/25/2012

" 3.5. Fun and pretty clean, although probably not for youth. Has a lot of adult alcohol use. This is also a free ebook, so be prepared for typos, grammatical errors, etc. "

  • 5 out of 55 out of 55 out of 55 out of 55 out of 5 Mimi Tran | 10/3/2012

" I always loved these kinds of books. I expected romance but I loved the action more. "
