Publisher Description

America is falling, ready to join the Roman Empire as a distant memory in the annals of history. The year is 2027. Tired and desperate, the American people are deep in the middle of The Second Great Depression. The Florida coastline is in ruins from the most powerful hurricane on record; a second just like it is bearing down on the state of Texas. For the first time in history, the Middle East has united as one and amassed the most formidable army the world has seen since the Third Reich. A hidden army of terrorists is on American soil.

This is the story of three men: Howard Beck, the world's richest man, also diagnosed with Asperger's Syndrome. Richard Dupree, ex-Navy SEAL turned escaped convict. Maxwell Harris, a crippled, burned out Chief of Police of a small Texas town. At first they must fight for their own survival against impossible odds. Finally, the three men must band together to save their beloved country from collapse.

"Terror, tragedy and a world in chaos. The year is 2027 and America as we know it is no longer. The second great depression is taking its toll on the American people, who are beginning to lose faith that their beloved country will rise again. This intriguing tale by Richard Stephenson was skillfully written and provided a terrifying glimpse into a future of what could be. I won't divulge any details as they've already been posted through other reviews, but I do highly recommend this enlightening read (even if it isn't something you would normally pick up)."

" This is a fantastically dystopian novel set in 2027. It present a realistic future with America on the brink of bankruptcy. I've got to say that I think there's a strong possibility that he's managed to predict an accurate dystopian future. BRILLIANT NOVEL "

" I really enjoyed the book. I can't wait until the next one is out. The only reason that I didn't give it 5 stars was do to the grammatical mistakes. I am not that grate grammatically so for me to notice the mistakes it is big. That was the only drawback that I have. Hopefully he will have a better proof reader that can correct these mistakes before it is published. "

" There were definitely some issues. I wouldn't rank this among the most well-written books, but I liked the story and the characters grew on me. I look forward to the next in the series. "

" This story had potential, but it was not well written. The story was set in 2027 and had a lot of popular culture references from 2000-2011. Much of the story was also written like a summarized version of another book. It could have been fleshed out a lot more. "
