" Loving this book so far! "

" This is the best book on family nutrition I've read yet. Tons of solid information, helpful graphs, and practical suggestions for helping kids to being intuitive healthy eaters. The recipes look kind of gross--I haven't actually tried any of them because it looks like Fuhrman is probably a better nutritionist than chef. But if you're looking for solid information about how to feed your family right, this is the book for you. "

" The recipes in this book were wonderful as far as increasing the nutrition of the foods we fix in our home, and were flavor-full too. I personally cannot bring myself to believe that being dairy-free is the way to be (he sites studies, but I've seen others site studies that show the opposite, it's a toss up, statistically), and I have read just as much negative stuff on soy as I have dairy. He uses a lot of soy in his recipes, which I just swapped with real milk. I do believe he's on the right track as to the definite need to increase children's (and adults') veggie intake, especially green ones! "

" I've discovered that even with Dr Fuhrman, I have at least one issue with every diet book I've read. I guess I really like what he says, I just really don't like him. Good to read though. "

" It was very good at explaining why you need to feed your children differently. So many of the problems I have as an adult are due to the way I ate as a child. We will be incorporating some of the suggestions for our family. "

" Really made me think about the way we eat, and the many bad habits we have. Almost makes a person want to go vegan.....ALMOST!! While I didn't agree with everything in here, there was a lot of good I got out of it. Now...where to start making changes? "

  • 4 out of 54 out of 54 out of 54 out of 54 out of 5 Emily | 1/10/2014

" Another really good book I wish I had read before having kids. Much of the same info from "Eat to Live" but more geared towards children and a lot easier to read. "

  • 5 out of 55 out of 55 out of 55 out of 55 out of 5 Kathleen | 1/2/2014

" Loved this book. Very educational on the topic of food, whats in the foods we eat, and what it does to our bodies. I loved the ideas I got for good things to feel not only my children but myself as well. It changed our perspective on food a few years ago and has stuck with us. "

  • 4 out of 54 out of 54 out of 54 out of 54 out of 5 Lisa | 12/25/2013

" This was a very insightful health book. It gives great ideas in preparing healthy meals for our children and learning about immune building foods. "

" Definitely getting my husband and 12 year old to read this. Cancer and other diseases start now for children but you can prevent them by feeding your kids well (but that is probably not what you think it is). "

  • 3 out of 53 out of 53 out of 53 out of 53 out of 5 Tricia | 10/22/2013

" Same concepts as Eat to Live - no need to read both. Just a good reminder to make sure the whole family is eating a nutrient rich diet. "

  • 4 out of 54 out of 54 out of 54 out of 54 out of 5 Ann | 9/29/2013

" I agree that diet affects more than we want to acknowledge, but it's very hard to turn the tide! "

  • 3 out of 53 out of 53 out of 53 out of 53 out of 5 Elizabeth | 1/17/2013

" while i don't agree with all of his ideas/suggestions, he makes many important points. i believe he relies too heavily on soy products. some good recipes. "

  • 4 out of 54 out of 54 out of 54 out of 54 out of 5 Robin | 12/1/2012

" I highly recommend this to moms. It goes hand in hand with the new program our family is doing and although we are not forcing our boys to eat this way - there is a lot of great information but the recipes I like better are on fatfreevegan.com. "

  • 5 out of 55 out of 55 out of 55 out of 55 out of 5 Brittanie | 8/4/2012

" I absolutely loved this book! My grandfather was a chiropractor and believed many of the same principles. It has also answered many of my questions on what to feed my children. This was one of those life-changing books. We are now a healthier family. "

  • 5 out of 55 out of 55 out of 55 out of 55 out of 5 Shayla | 10/7/2011

" What do you say about a book that changed your life...(and I'm not being dramatic... it really did). I recommend everyone read this, whether you have kids or not, whether they're little or all-growed-up. Fantastic advice and information for anyone. "

  • 4 out of 54 out of 54 out of 54 out of 54 out of 5 Emilydodge | 8/5/2010

" I absolutely agree with everything Dr. Fuhrman says. Recommend especially to anyone whose child may be sick 'all the time.' "

  • 4 out of 54 out of 54 out of 54 out of 54 out of 5 Jennifer | 9/20/2009

" Awesome book. Everyone who cares about keeping their kids healthy should read it. Awfully repetitive, though. (He really wants those main ideas to stick!) "

  • 5 out of 55 out of 55 out of 55 out of 55 out of 5 Charlotte | 5/8/2009

" I really like the idea of this book. It's very motivating to me to cut as much junk out of our lives as I can and put in lots of good stuff. It's still hard to do, but everytime I read about it, I get more inspired to try it and do it as much as I can. "

  • 5 out of 55 out of 55 out of 55 out of 55 out of 5 Amy | 3/20/2009

" I wish I had read this before my first child was born. Joel's series of books have sparked a major change in our household eating habits and I couldn't be happier! "

  • 5 out of 55 out of 55 out of 55 out of 55 out of 5 Shelly | 5/31/2008

" EVERY parent should read this book. Seriously. It has definitely changed the way I view food and what I will be feeding my children from now on. Much easier read than The China Study, with the same basic information. And I love the case examples he gave to drive the points home. "

  • 4 out of 54 out of 54 out of 54 out of 54 out of 5 Rachel | 4/24/2007

" This really made me stop and think about what I'm feeding my kids. As a result, I've made a commitment to ditch the processed foods while we're at home, and to implement more of a grazing diet for them. "
