"Great read - while ostensibly an action novel, the book is full of emotional depth. The writing is tight and the plot is inventive. Truly a joy to read - can't wait for Mr. Shane's next book. I'll have a longer review shortly."

" OK here's the thing, although I cant say I dont like this book and I have only got as far as page 40 I cant read any more. Its like having a conversation with someone and after a while you stop listening. The writing is so detailed it is like talking to a train-spotter. OK if you like trains but otherwise yawn worthy and I feel I am doing the book an injustice really because it has been good so far I just done care. I guess its a case of too much information. Would I recommend this book.... I would say give it a go you might find you like it as if you do give the author a really good review to make up for this one please. "

" This is not the type of book I would ever read but I was drawn in from the first sentence and couldn't put it down. Definitely hoping a sequel is in the works... "

" Started off good and was whizzing through it but then I got tired of all the running. Lots of killing with an Interesting story line. Would definitely want to be a civilian. "

" I wanted to like this more than I did. I was expecting a more dystopian novel and I got a Jason Bourne-like thriler. It is good, though, and I'd probably give it 3 1/2 stars if that were possible. I will definitely read the rest of the trilogy when they are released. "

" Amazing, fast read in a journal format. Kinda Noir as the character has huge flaws that were (are) thrust onto him. Read the jacket then read the book. You won't regret it. "

" I only got through the first few chapters and could not continue. It was interesting but not enough for me to want to find out the purpose of the killings. It's supposed to be a dystopic novel, a genre I love, but it didn't pull me in enough to invest more time. "
