Publisher Description

It has been a busy few weeks for Private Kaylin Neva. In between angling for a promotion, sharing her room with the last living female Dragon, and dealing with more refugees than anyone knew what to do with, the unusual egg she'd been given began to hatch. Actually, that turned out to be lucky, because it absorbed the energy from the bomb that went off in her quarters.

So now might be the perfect time to leave Elantra and journey to the West March with the Barrani. If not for the disappearances of citizens in the fief of Tiamaris - disappearances traced to the very Barrani Kaylin is about to be traveling with....

"I LOVE Michelle Sagara's "Cast" series, but am not the hugest fan of how there ends up being more questions than answers. On one hand, it's fascinating and complex (and all sorts of awesome) but on the other hand, it can be extremely frustrating that you're left wanting answers that have been popping up in earlier books. I love the books that deal directly with the Barrani in this particular series, so it had that going for it, but you're left hanging. With MORE questions. Argh. (But will still rush out to buy Cast in Sorrow.. because you know, I'm a ginormous fan)"

" I always enjoy reading these stories. I was disappointed that the whole focus of the story was to get to the reading but that never happened. "

" Fantastic read! I take the day off anytime Michelle Sagara/Michelle West releases a new story. This one didn't disappoint, only made hate to reach THE END. The wait for the next installment is already unbearable. "

" If you liked all of the other Elantra series of books, you'll like this one. It's not groundbreaking and feels a bit convoluted in places, but still a fun read. "

" Latest one in the series. Haven't really been able to put it down. I'll finish it sometime tonight. I'll have to read all the books through again before I write a review. These books have many complicated plot points. "

" Almost as good as all the others, but it really does feel like half a story and bogs down a little at the end. Still, definitely worth reading if you enjoyed the first 7. Also, cheaper kibdle prices are a lifesaver for a series only otherwise available in trade paperback. "
