"Exceptional, as always! Immediately started the next one...Bury Your Dead. Louise Penny is my absolute favorite "mystery" writer. Definitely defies categorization as it is a wonderful piece of literature full of rich characters and incredible charms of Eastern Quebec. I defy you not to fall in love with Chief Inspector Gamache. Sigh."

" Another excellent book from Louise Penny, Gamache gets better and better. Lining up the next one in the series. "

" Love this author. If you are reading this, I suggest you start at the beginning of the series so you can understand all the nuances of the development of the characters. "

" Disappointing fifth in the series(which up to now I've loved). The writing is still smooth and right on. But the overall creepiness of the book and the involvement of one of the major villagers is "beyond the pale". You might expect it of Clara's husband Peter, who is pretty jealous of his wife's talent at times. Maybe Penny is going to knock off each of the villagers and then there will be none. "

" Another great read in this series but how could the author eliminate one of my favorite characters? I'm not sure Three Pines will be the same without him! Only one more to read and I'm caught up....I hope there will be a new book soon! "

" Finished this last night and enjoyed it as well. Three Pines is a pastoral setting, Gamache is a solid protagonist, and Penny sure knows her food in a bistro setting. Susan goes to the libray tomorrow for the next installment of 8. Read it. "

" Way to weirdly complicated, and I really don't think that anyone outspoken in his loathing of gay men would rise very far in the art world. Ah well, there's a clinker in every bunch. "

" What a rich, satisfying book! I would have been sad if this novel ended without anything else to read by this author (and in this setting) but fortunately, Louise Penny has a handful of earlier books in the series I look forward to reading. "
