“Delightful, energetic. . . . Trigiani is a seemingly effortless storyteller.” — Boston Globe Award-winning playwright, television writer, and documentary filmmaker Adriana Trigiani returns with Brava, Valentine, continuing the heartwarming and hilarious story of Valentine Roncalli, her family, her love life, and the Angelini Shoe Company. Following on the heels of the New York Times bestseller Very Valentine (hailed by People magazine as “Sex and the City meets Moonstruck”), Brava, Valentine is another tour-de-force from the beloved author of bestselling novels Lucia, Lucia, The Queen of the Big Time, and the Big Stone Gap series.

"Enjoyed this one far more than the first book about Valentine. I liked seeing her grow up a little bit more and some of the major family issues being settled. It was especially powerful to watch Alfred go through his own affair (although very few details were given) and watch how that changed his relationship with the whole family. I thought it was hard to have Gram move to Italy but at the same time I don't see how Valentine could have grown as much if she hadn't. I'm hoping there is another book so we can see what happens now that she has accepted Gianluca's proposal and how they will work out a marriage when they live so far apart."

" I had to wait for several months at my local library for this book to be available to me, and at first, I was disappointed. The first quarter of the book was a lot of interior dialogue that I found boring about adult children who were petulent, self-centered etc. However, I did get swept up in the family saga as family members showed some chinks in their armor, obstacles forced emotional growth, and new developments engaged me. I truly loved two characters in the book, a gay man and a seventy one year old free spirited woman whose perspectives on life and love had were substantial, moving and often unexpected. "
— Kathleen, 1/31/2014" Can't wait for the next one. The only book by this author I don't like is Rococo. "
— Johnkellybennett, 1/26/2014" This was a fun easy chick lit. Just right for light Christmas reading. "
— Lisa, 1/25/2014" Enjoyed listening to this book on CD -- nice to have the correct Italian pronunciation. Also learned a lot about the Italian/American culture and family dynamics and the handmade shoe business. Am wondering if there's a sequel since we don't find out whether Valentine moves to Italy or if John Luca moves to the USA.....what happens to her business? Also enjoyed the book before this one: Very Valentine. "
— Linda, 1/21/2014" This was a great follow-up book about Valentine. "
— Laura, 1/21/2014" This is the second in a series. They are both good reads although they make me want to buy custom made shoes. These have a bit of romance to them, but really they are about a woman trying to revitalize her family's business. "
— Autumn, 1/12/2014" Love Trigiani's writing. Bring on book three! "
— Marcia, 12/29/2013" I read this only because one of my book groups recommended it. It is a little too Harlequin Romance for me. The story did get better after about 150 pages but still bogged down with too much romance. "
— Pat, 12/17/2013" I may have enjoyed this book even more than Very Valentine. Trigiani does a fantastic job at character development, dialogue, and describing human relationships, particularly those of the familial sort. I absolutely love her books.....pure enjoyment, but definitely in the category of "chicklit". "
— Barbara, 12/10/2013" entertaining and light! "
— Karen, 12/4/2013" Even better! This trilogy represents Trigiani in top form. I can't wait for the third book ( : "
— Patrice, 11/14/2013" I really enjoy her storytelling...there's always some drama thrown in as well! "
— Julie, 11/9/2013" Definitely one of my favorite authors. I love the main characters in this book too! Be sure to read Lucia Lucia before this one. "
— Julie, 10/14/2013" Was sad to see this book end; the writing is fantastic, the storyline is incredibly compelling and I really hope that there is a third book in this series... definitely a MUST READ. "

— Angela, 1/31/2013" A cute series, hope book 3 comes out soon! "
— Nic, 9/20/2012" I love all of Adriana Trigiani's books, but the best thing about this one and the previous title about Valentine is the descriptions of the SHOES! (sigh) "
— Beverly, 4/28/2012" A great sequel to Very Valentine. Same great characters and enjoyable writing style. I love reading about Valentines adventures and seeing her grow as a character from the ups and downs in the book. A thoroughly enjoyable read! Now I just need some amazing custom shoes and a trip to Italy. "
— Mandy, 4/11/2012" I loved this book. It's wonderful how Trigiani can create delicious tension and resolve it in unexpected, yet plausible ways. Envy! "
— Maureen, 3/16/2012" I had this on my library hold list for quite some time before it arrived and it was well worth the wait. I think that Valentine may be my favorite fictional character ever. I do hope that Trigiani will continue to write about the Roncalli family. In the meantime, I will miss them! "
— Barbara, 3/7/2012" My favorite yet of Trigiani's! "
— Natalie, 10/30/2011" Very, very weak story. Only read if you are in a foreign country and you have nothing else to read. "
— Sherrie, 9/13/2011" I got teary eyed and laughed though out this story. Trigiani does a good job of writing about families and what holds them together. "
— Alex, 6/20/2011" This book made me think of my grandmother. I cried during and when it was done. I wish there was another book in the series. "
— Carol, 6/13/2011" A cute series, hope book 3 comes out soon! "
— Nic, 6/12/2011" The 2nd book of a trilogy. Very interesting character. Can't wait to read the final one. "
— Pat, 6/8/2011" I am a fan of this author but found this book disappointing. Thirty five yr old works with her grandmother in the family shoe business. She is looking for love in all the wrong places but mister right finally shows up. Gag me. Gee what an original plot. "
— Elyse, 6/7/2011" I really liked this book about a woman trying to figure out what she wants and who she can trust. This book is a page-turner--I couldn't wait to see how it all turned out. "
— Carla, 6/3/2011" Good second book to Very Valentine. "
— Tammy, 6/1/2011" Not quite as good as the first (Very Valentine) but the setting (Italy) is very romantic and still included interesting detail about the shoe manufacturing & design process! "
— Kelly, 5/31/2011" I wanted to like this book more because I loved Trigiani's Big Stone Gap series but I just didn't enjoy this book. Part of that might be because I just read Mary Sutter and after reading that story this was much too fluffy. "
— Paige, 5/29/2011" I laughed, I cried, I LOVED IT "
— Carmella, 5/29/2011" A great sequel to Very Valentine. Same great characters and enjoyable writing style. I love reading about Valentines adventures and seeing her grow as a character from the ups and downs in the book. A thoroughly enjoyable read! Now I just need some amazing custom shoes and a trip to Italy. "
— Mandy, 5/23/2011" Decent chick lit about family dynamics and love Italian style "
— Sue, 5/13/2011" I really liked this book...This series is the first time I've read Trigiani...Will definitely check out some of her other books! "
— cindy, 5/12/2011" I listened to this on MP3 and really enjoyed it as a fun listen at the health club. I hear this is the second of a trilogy and I will get the next one! "
— Laurie, 5/4/2011" Sequel to Very Valentine - not disappointing. Loved the characters - loved the locations - loved the handcrafted shoes - loved the generational slant. A fun - happy - quick read. "
