Don’t miss the next Will Trent thriller, This Is Why We Lied, coming this August!
From New York Times bestselling author Karin Slaughter, the first novel in her acclaimed Grant County Series.
A small Georgia town erupts in panic when a young college professor is found brutally mutilated in the local diner. But it’s only when town pediatrician and coroner Sara Linton does the autopsy that the full extent of the killer’s twisted work becomes clear.
Sara’s ex-husband, police chief Jeffrey Tolliver, leads the investigation—a trail of terror that grows increasingly macabre when another local woman is found crucified a few days later. But he’s got more than a sadistic serial killer on his hands, because the county’s only female detective, Lena Adams—the first victim’s sister—wants to serve her own justice.
But it is Sara who holds the key to finding the killer. A secret from her past could unmask the brilliantly malevolent psychopath… or mean her death.

"The first book I read by KS was Factured, it was a good read but no where near as gritty as I had expected after hearing about this author. I was then told to try Blindsighted, this one blew me out and the water and I haven't been able to get enough of Karin Slaughter since."
— Donna (5 out of 5 stars)
“[Slaughter] is compared to Thomas Harris and Patricia Cornwell, and for once the hype is justified…She is a serious, as well as a skillful writer, and I look forward to the further adventures of Dr. Sara Linton.”
— Washington Post“If you are looking for an unflinching suspense thriller with an emphasis on charachter, this is the one. Blightsighted is a promising debut, and Karin Slaughter is a novelist to watch.”
— George P. Pelecanos, author of Right as Rain“A debut of rare quality that grips like a vise from the first page. It’s hard to believe this is Karen Slaughters’s first outing, so mature is the prose, so taut the suspense, so extreme the engagement with the reader…A lot of writers are going to read this and weep.”
— Val McDermid, author of Place of Execution“Excellent…with characters you care about and a plot with enough twists and shocks to keep you turning the pages long after bedtime. Karin Slaughter goes straight on my must-read list.”
— Peter Robinson, author of In a Dry Season“This is storytelling at it’s finest…A scary surefire winner.”
— John Westermann, author of Exit Wounds“Karen Slaughter’s debut is taut, mean, nasty, and bloody well written.”
— Stella Duffy, author of Beneath the Blonde“Blindsighted is everything a book should be, and Karin Slaughter is a significant new voice in American crime fiction.”
— Jane Haddam, author of True Believers“Gripping…Rich with likable, believable characters and plot twists that will take your breath away.”
— Cleveland Plain Dealer“Slaughter is off to a fine start…in this bloody, fast-paced thriller.”
— St. Louis Post-Dispatch“An engaging story…A noirish thriller that veers into the Southern Gothic tradition complete with the brooding atmosphere…Slaughter allows the reader few moments of rest as she keeps the tale moving at breakneck speed, still taking hairpin curves with ease.”
— Orlando Sun-Sentinel" I enjoyed it. But there was a lot of pretty graphic violence against women. "
— John, 2/17/2014" Ending was a bit of a letdown, but great action and good tight story "
— Neil, 1/31/2014" Read for book club and since I picked it out shouldn't complain but too much about rape. Since this was her first book may be that the other books are better but I did not care for this one. "
— Sue, 1/31/2014" I couldn't put this book down! "
— Sherry, 1/31/2014" First time reading Karin Slaughter and happy to say it will not be my last. The details are greusome but gave me insight as to EXACTLY what was going on as if it were happening in front of me which was kind of tough to deal with at times since it really did get pretty gruesome! I didn't know who did what until the very end.. so that made me glad, when I find out who did it and still have over half the book to read that kind of sucks!! This book was a definate PLUS for myself and the friend I have in TX that reads books with me. It was great. "
— Patricia, 1/21/2014" Started out I thought this book had promise, but eventually I just skimmed through to see "who did it." Too much gory detail about the crime, seemingly repeated much more than necessary. Couldn't really relate to the characters either. "
— Shirley, 1/4/2014" Loved it! Fabulous! Will read the rest of the series. "
— Jeanna, 1/1/2014" Extremely engrossing, kept me on my toes the whole book. Love it and I'm going to read the while series! "

— Hannah, 9/12/2013" Exciting and upsetting, but I couldn't stop reading it. "
— Sally, 2/4/2013" Awesome start to a great series! Karin Slaughter in a fantastic storyteller. I love Sara but wasn't a huge Jeffery fan at first. He does redeem himself in further books. "
— Liane, 1/13/2013" Will Trent is my favorite character so I need her to write more books with him in the storyline rather than Lena, Sara or Faith. "

— Lisa, 7/19/2011" Excellent book! I've been trying to find a new author and I finally found one. Just a warnng, the crimes are very gruesome and disturbing. If you have a difficult time reading detailed accounts of crimes against women you should skip this one. "
— Lyndsay, 5/15/2011" Another good thriller from Slaughter..her name says it all..if you can't take gory then dont read "

— Zunny79, 4/21/2011" I ended up with mixed feelings about this book. It was extremely graphic, but hard to put down at the same time. I found the ending to be expected, but I enjoyed watching the characters develop. All in all, I enjoyed the book and will look for the additional books in the series. "
— Heather, 4/15/2011" The narrator sucked so much but the book itself wasn't a masterpiece either. "
— Julia, 4/9/2011" Been enjoying Slaughter's more recent work so thought I'd go back to the beginning. Hard to believe this was her first novel. Very well done, if a bit stomach-churning. I thought it faded a bit at the end, so probably more of a 3.5 star rating. "
