Publisher Description

Quitting her husband's house and moving back in with her horrible family, Lady Maccon becomes the scandal of the London season in the third book of the NYT bestselling Parasol Protectorate series.

Queen Victoria dismisses her from the Shadow Council, and the only person who can explain anything, Lord Akeldama, unexpectedly leaves town. To top it all off, Alexia is attacked by homicidal mechanical ladybugs, indicating, as only ladybugs can, the fact that all of London's vampires are now very much interested in seeing Alexia quite thoroughly dead.

While Lord Maccon elects to get progressively more inebriated and Professor Lyall desperately tries to hold the Woolsey werewolf pack together, Alexia flees England for Italy in search of the mysterious Templars. Only they know enough about the preternatural to explain her increasingly inconvenient condition, but they may be worse than the vampires -- and they're armed with pesto.

Blameless is the third book of the Parasol Protectorate series: a comedy of manners set in Victorian London, full of werewolves, vampires, dirigibles, and tea-drinking.

"Oh my ... This book ... Sigh. It started out so hard and so disappointing for me. The writing is great and the character work just as good as Soulless ... Just dismayed about what the characters do. But I guess that is how I know it is good and well written. I was wrapped up in it and all in with all of the characters and events. As always with the Parasol Protectorate audiobooks, the narration is phenomenal."

" Well, at least I don't hate him anymore. She did forgive him a bit fast, I'm positive that Alexia will make him pay for years to come. "

" Third in a series of the preternatural. Eh. Wasn't super thrilled with the representation of the Templars, although I like that each country treats the supernatural different, as according to that country's belief system. Not likely the whole world would agree on this topic! "

" It was an action-packed kind of book, with lots happening but it seemed to fail when it came answering questions. Yeah, we know what Alexia is carrying but what the hell did her father? What does Floote seem to be hiding? What problems are coming Alexia's way? And the end was rushed. I was hoping for something more but it is still entertaining and provides a better understanding of this world. "

" The first page has a sentence that causes me to grind my teeth. Other than that the entire book quickly hits its stride in which our impregnated impeccably dressed parasol wielder makes her way throughout Europe seeking answers and sanctuary all the while pursued by vampires and assassins who wish her dead. Lots of hot pursuit and loads of fun, but probably not wise to drop in without reading the other volume just previous, as that would increase your general enjoyment of the entire story (with the exception of the first chapter, as her family are simply deplorable people that overdo everything). " I really enjoyed reading this next book in the series. Alexia and her adventures sure take us to some fun and interesting places with the supernatural. Alexia is now going to have a baby, but what is it exactly going to be. I cannot wait for the next installment in this series to find out. "

" This series is such a fun read. I've enjoyed all three of them so far. The characters are very rounded, and the settings are imaginative and really bring out the steampunk genre. Can't wait for the rest of the series. "

" Yep, it was fine. I'll read the next one. I don't know, it's not a deep novel by any means, so there's really not much to say. Brain candy literature, I say. "
