Publisher Description

For as long as Esmerine can remember, she has longed to join her older sister, Dosinia, as a siren - the highest calling a mermaid can have. When Dosinia runs away to the mainland, Esmerine is sent to retrieve her. Using magic to transform her tail into legs, she makes her way unsteadily to the capital city.

There she comes upon a friend she hasn't seen since childhood - a dashing young man named Alandare, who belongs to a winged race of people. As Esmerine and Alandare band together to search for Dosinia, they rekindle a friendship... and ignite the emotions for a love so great, it cannot be bound by sea, land, or air.

"This book is different but in a really good way. The characters were amazing, the plot kept me constantly interested and I absolutely loved the ending. I love mermaid books and I enjoyed reading about the fun winged creatures, fandarsee, too. A "fish" and a "bird", who would have thought!?"

" Jaclyn Dolamore has a real talent for writing these sort of stories. Magic Under Glass was one of my favourites, and while I don't believe I found this as good, it still managed to live up to its predecessor. I'm not sure whether there is a sequel planned, but for once, I am more than happy to leave the story where it ended. The author's descriptions of places and events are really lovely, in fact, her descriptions of flying make me wish I could fly! I don't want to elaborate any further, because it is something you should read and experience for yourself. "

" So lush and fanciful, so sweetly old-fashioned. I loved reading this as an adult but if I had gotten ahold of it when I was 12 or 13 I would have read and reread my copy until it was in tatters. "

" I thought the plot sounded good but I didn't enjoy the whole winged people part of the story. It just didn't work for me. I would rather have been the mermaid and a human. But then the title wouldn't of worked. And I really didn't see much of a love story. "

" This book was enjoyable. I read it in a night because I didn't want to go to bed with it unfinished. The only thing I didn't like about this book was that I couldn't picture what Alandars wings looked like. Other than that, I thought this was an enjoyable quick read. "

" Gave it a hundred pages, but it didn't pick up or hook me. I'm not sure how a book about mermaid siren and her romance with a flying dude can be boring, but Between the Sea and Sky managed it. "
