Professor of Egyptology and director of the Yale Egyptological Institute John C. Darnell delves into the history of Ancient Egypt from the Predynastic Period through the end of the New Kingdom. In these lectures, Professor Darnell shows that, despite common perceptions, Pharaonic Egyptian civilization existed within a multicultural society subject to disparate geological environments-and that its strength lay in the balancing of contrasting groups and goals.

"I really liked this series before, but having had a recent trip to Historic Savannah it was even more relate-able. I loved being able to recognize and visualize the actual locations! We unknowingly ate at Huey's (as recommended by our hotel). I have no idea why I didn't remember that it had such a major role in the series. I like that the characters are developing well, but not too quickly. It was frustrating at first, but I enjoy it now. All too often, author ruin characters by having them rush into things - relationships, new careers, etc."

“Original and thought-provoking.”
— RT Book Reviews" I really liked the first book in this series. The second was OK, left a lot unanswered, but I was hoping for more from book 3. I'd give this one 2-1/2 stars if I could do 1/2 stars. Still a decent read, but I'm having trouble rooting for the main character now, and that's a big problem. "
— Kindle-aholic, 11/19/2013" I chose to give this one star as I stopped 20 pages from the end of the book because it took such a wierd turn, I could read no further. Now I am taking a break from the series but truly doubt I will read another one as I was so disappointed in the last pages of this one. "
— Vicky, 10/28/2013" I'd really like to see more between Sam and Bree in this series. I want her to have some relief from her days of hard work even if she can't tell him anything about 666 Angelus Street. "
— Wendi, 10/14/2013" This was not my favorite of the series. There did not seem to be as much "ghost" action in this one. I'll keep reading, though, because they are light, little cozies. "
— Daniele, 10/6/2013" I have enjoyed reading this series...there is another on coming out in the fall, so I'll be sure to read that one as well! "
— Connie, 9/17/2013" This has become one of my favorite series. I love the characters. They're colorful and humorous. The books take place in Savannah, one of my favorite places every and they're just a little different - kind of off center - in a good way! I already have the next in the series on hold at the library. "
— Elizabeth, 7/26/2013" I really liked this book, it was an interesting story. There's not a lot of detail but it seems to work. "
— Amanda, 6/17/2013" Bree respresents ex-banker, Russell O'Rourke, who supposedly killed himself after losing a fortune. "
— Kitty, 5/19/2013" I'm really enjoying this series. I'm looking forward the next one. "
— Sandy, 3/2/2013" I would have given the book 3 stars if it hadn't been for the paranormal parts. I decided to read the book because the author writes another series under the name of Claudia Bishop that I enjoy reading. If paranormal doesn't creep you out, then consider this book a 3 star book. "
— Tig, 1/25/2013" Not my cup of tea. Very bizarre story line. "
— Lois, 12/9/2012" Another great Beaufort & Company Mystery read with some new information on the origins of Beaufort & Company and as usual some interesting information on the history of Savannah. "
— Trine, 11/1/2012" Simple and predictable mystery but the premise behind this series is fun. "
— Janell, 6/6/2012" I love this series with it's angels as advocates. The mystery was good and a complete surprise, which I love. "
— Jill, 3/23/2012" Another great book in the series! Love the characters, the mystery, and the fast pace. I would definitely recommend it! "
— Suz, 1/24/2012" Great book! Just wish there was a little more romance... "
— Sandy, 5/26/2011" Lovely light reading with a good suspense plot, an intelligent and powerful feminine lead, and a bit of the supernatural. Just my kind of book. "
— Deanna, 5/7/2011" Another wonderful offering by Mary Stanton! A must read series. "

— Kindle-aholic, 1/14/2011" Okay - this was the best of the series. The mystery was great, the characters started to come together for me too. All in all pretty satisfying and I'm now looking forward to the next one! "
