Grains of sand glistened in the moonlight, bright against the backdrop of her wet hair. Her blue lips were parted slightly, as if she could take in that last breath she'd been gasping for. She was, in a word, perfection.

When his friend's niece is murdered, Detective Noah Crandall vows to track down the killer. Since the victim worked in an art gallery with the well-connected and well-heeled Vanessa Knight, Noah questions her first. Despite the chemistry between them, Noah tells himself a relationship would be impossible. He's a loner and their backgrounds are worlds apart.

Drawn to Noah and horrified by the death of her intern, Vanessa shares her insights into the New York City art world. As they work together on the case, she's tempted to explore the possibility of a real relationship with the sexy outsider who ignites her desire. But what Vanessa doesn't realize is that in order to complete his gruesome series of paintings, the killer has targeted her to become his next victim.

"I really liked this series before, but having had a recent trip to Historic Savannah it was even more relate-able. I loved being able to recognize and visualize the actual locations! We unknowingly ate at Huey's (as recommended by our hotel). I have no idea why I didn't remember that it had such a major role in the series. I like that the characters are developing well, but not too quickly. It was frustrating at first, but I enjoy it now. All too often, author ruin characters by having them rush into things - relationships, new careers, etc."

" I would have given the book 3 stars if it hadn't been for the paranormal parts. I decided to read the book because the author writes another series under the name of Claudia Bishop that I enjoy reading. If paranormal doesn't creep you out, then consider this book a 3 star book. "

" Okay - this was the best of the series. The mystery was great, the characters started to come together for me too. All in all pretty satisfying and I'm now looking forward to the next one! "

" This has become one of my favorite series. I love the characters. They're colorful and humorous. The books take place in Savannah, one of my favorite places every and they're just a little different - kind of off center - in a good way! I already have the next in the series on hold at the library. "

" Lovely light reading with a good suspense plot, an intelligent and powerful feminine lead, and a bit of the supernatural. Just my kind of book. "

" Well, I listen to the entire audiobook, and I have no clue what happen... This book did not grab my attention one bit, I heard enough to know who killed who and how it was solved but everything else is a blur, this reaction is very rare for me since I have an audiobook in my ear through out the day and I am always focused on it. I will give the next book in the series a chance and if this happens again, I am done with the series. "

" I really liked the first book in this series. The second was OK, left a lot unanswered, but I was hoping for more from book 3. I'd give this one 2-1/2 stars if I could do 1/2 stars. Still a decent read, but I'm having trouble rooting for the main character now, and that's a big problem. "

" I chose to give this one star as I stopped 20 pages from the end of the book because it took such a wierd turn, I could read no further. Now I am taking a break from the series but truly doubt I will read another one as I was so disappointed in the last pages of this one. "
