"I thoroughly enjoyed Islands. The story concerns a group of married couples who are also best friends. They called themselves the 'scrubs', and the share a beach home and time together. Time passes, a few tragedies occur, and an absolute unforseen ending happens that will take your breath away! I loved it!"

" I'm normally a huge fan of Anne Rivers Siddons, but this book fell flat for me. The main character and her husband were the only characters who inspired any real love in me. Everyone else either fell flat or made me dislike them. I felt NO sympathy when the "tragedies" struck, more of a sense of "Oh, so THAT'S the plot device of the week." I'm not sure what it was that just didn't work for me about this book, but it didn't work. Period. "

" This is the first of Anne Rivers SIddons books that I have read. It is about the friendship of four couples in CHarlston SC. I liked reading about the areas as they were familiar to me, but the story was so so. "

" Wasn't feelng it- didn't care for the narrator's voice, but more importantly, I didn't care about any of the characters or their shallow story. This was an abridged version and that only made matters worse because it jumped around a lot. Not a big fan. "

" I haven't read an Anne Rivers Siddons book in years. I discovered her during high school and have enjoyed her writing ever since. I am a sucker for any stories involving the beach, friendships, life, etc. Perfect for a summer read. This story did not disappoint- although a bit typical, her writing is beautiful and I love the descriptions of the Charleston and Low Country areas. "
