" Definitely a clean, easy read. A couple of preachy moments...one chapter towards the end I skipped altogether. But I'm a sucker for this time period, so I'll continue on with the series. :) "

" I enjoyed this book very much. It was the first in what I thought was going to be a trilogy. It seems now that there are four, and that I should add the next three to my list of things to read! This is a story about two young women of the civil war times. One is white and the other is black, and they develop a closeness that they keep secret. "

I didn't realize it was going to have a sequel, so it just kind of ended. I am not even curious enough to read the next one to see what happens. "
