About the Narrators
Corey Allen, an Earphones Award-winning narrator, has been labeled by artistic collaborators as a “journeyman” and “chameleon-like” actor, relentless in his pursuit of truth and transformation in his work. As a voiceover artist, his talents have been heard in sound plays, commercial copy, industrial and documentary films, and many audiobooks. He is based in New York City and is a founding member of Coyote REP. He holds a BA from the University of California–Irvine and an MFA from the University of Illinois–Urbana-Champaign.
Karen Chilton is a New York–based actor and writer and an accomplished voice-over artist and narrator. She has narrated dozens of audiobooks, won three AudioFile Earphones Awards, and in 2020 won the prestigious Audie Award for Best Nonfiction Narration. Her voice can be heard on numerous national network television, radio, and Internet advertising campaigns.
Chris Henry Coffey is a film and television actor known for his role in David Schwimmer’s film Trust. He has also had roles on Broadway, including the play Bronx Bombers. A graduate of the Yale School of Drama, he divides his time between New York and Los Angeles.
Kevin R. Free is an audiobook narrator and the winner of numerous AudioFile Earphones Awards and several AudioFile best narrations of the year selections. Known for his work with young-adult novels, he has read titles by Rick Riordan, Walter Dean Myers, and Joe Haldeman. In 2011 he was named a Best Voice in Young Adult and Fantasy from AudioFile magazine for his narration of Myers’ The Cruisers: Checkmate.
Channie Waites is an actress and narrator. Her reading of Victoria Bond and T. R. Simon’s book Zora and Me earned her a 2010 Best Voice Award in children and family listening from AudioFile magazine. She has received a total of four AudioFile Earphones Awards.
Neil Hellegers grew up in New Jersey and attended the University of Pennsylvania, where he earned a BA in theater arts and a minor in psychology before getting an MFA in acting from the Trinity Rep Conservatory in Providence, Rhode Island. He moved to New York City in 2003 and, since then, has made a career of theatrical performance, percussion, theater education, and audiobook narration. He currently lives in Brooklyn with his wife and son.
Lynnette R. Freeman is a voice and stage actress from East Cleveland. She is a graduate of Brown University and earned her MFA in acting from the Brown/Trinity Rep Conservatory. She is the narrator of several audiobooks, including The Family Business 3 by Carl Weber and Treasure Hernandez, I’m Doin’ Me by Anna Black, Becoming Mrs. Right by Sherri L. Lewis, and Wife Extraordinaire by Kiki Swinson.
