literatures in the African diaspora at Eastern Michigan University and holds a
doctorate from the University of Zurich. She is the author of several novels,
including Blackgammon and Wisdom, which was named an
Honor Book by the Black Caucus of the American Library Association. She lives
in Ypsilanti, Michigan.
