"From the opening spread, which seems to be upside-down until you realize it's written from the point of view of a spider, you can tell this is going to be a fun book. The spider in question just desperately wants to be a family pet, and tries everything to belong, but keeps frightening the family and getting tossed out the door. Finally, the spider just does what spiders do best and ends up being accepted for who she is. All ends happily for the spider. As for the family...well, just wait for the twist at the end."

" A book about a spider who wants to be a pet? This story was written for Kalyn (my daughter, who wants to keep every bug she finds as a pet, including spiders). It's cute, funny, and enjoyable whether you like spiders or not. Plus, what kid doesn't like to hear their mom yell, "Aaaaaargh!" Five stars! "

" Fun read aloud! Kids loved the predictability, even though most squashed spiders when they see one. (Me? I scream! Then squish.) The kids and I LOVED the ending. Read to find out! "

" This book was really cute and fun to read with our 5-year-old daughter. She is having trouble with spiders lately and this book was a cute way to show her that we don't have to be scared of them. Follows a spider that wants to be "part of the family" with a house of humans and all the ways that the spider acts to show them it should be their pet. "

" This is a great storytime book - you have to practice saying, "Aaaarrgghh! Spider!" before reading, and with the group if they're going to join in. The spelling of "Aaaarrgghh" makes it difficult to look it up in a catalog, so remember the author's name. "
