Do the mainstream media have a liberal bias? Sure they do, says CBS veteran and New York Times bestselling author Bernard Goldberg. But the media crossed an important line in the 2008 presidential race, moving from their usual unthinking liberal bias to crass partisanship of the crudest kind, practically acting as spin doctors for the presidential campaign of Barack Obama. In A Slobbering Love Affair, his most provocative book yet, Goldberg demonstrates how the media launched an unparalleled effort to ensure the election of the man they regarded as the One. From the thrill Obama sent up Chris Matthews's leg to the outrageously slanted "news" reports of the New York Times, Goldberg shows in exacting detail how the media, abandoning even the pretense of objectivity, moved from media bias to media activism. With his trademark blunt, honest insider's perspective, Goldberg reveals:
—How the media ignored, downplayed, or sanitized the rantings of the Reverend Jeremiah
Wright, Obama's long-standing "spiritual" adviser, and the radicalism of former terrorist (and Obama associate) Bill Ayers
—How the Obama campaign, while claiming to be "post-partisan," kicked reporters off Obama's plane after their newspapers endorsed McCain
—Why Obama's election makes it more likely conservative talk radio will be stifled by a new "Fairness Doctrine" that has nothing to do with fairness at all
—Why the liberal media preferred Obama to Hillary
—What we can expect from the media's coverage of Obama's presidency
—BONUS: An exclusive interview with Rush Limbaugh on the unholy alliance between Obama and the mainstream media
A blistering takedown of the media's slavish support for Obama, A Slobbering Love Affair highlights how the mainstream media has not only surrendered its integrity and objectivity but could even endanger our democracy.

"I have to applaud Mr. Goldberg for finally standing up and saying (writing) what most of us in America have been thinking. Every word of this book is true. I am almost dreading the next election as I know I will never hear the end of it if Obama Man wins or loses the next election."

" This book confirmed pretty much what I had already suspected or knew about the Liberal Mainstream Media and their relationship with Obama. However it was nice to see specific examples of the bias the media has with BHO and the list of those journalists who are the worst offenders. "
— David, 2/6/2014" It's really unfortunate that this book was written by Bernard Goldberg in his childishly partisan manner because I think otherwise it's a very fair and intriguing premise. Also, very little about the primary which is what we all really care about anyway, right? Oh well! "
— Matthew, 1/17/2014" Good book. I liked it. "
— Matt, 1/15/2014" reading this book dredged up all the bad memories that I had from the election. This is a book that looks at the mainstream media and the ridiculous bias that they used to influence the American public and the presidential election. everyone complains that FOX is such a conservative station, well take a look at just about every other station out there (hint, hint - MSNBC and CNN) and you'll get knocked out by liberalism. When the mainstream media's only role in the election should have been as a reference to the American public, a neutral place to get information to help one make an informed decision, the reality is that they were far far from it. The media made their decision and proclaimed their love for their fantasy presidential candidate and shoved their infatuation down everyone's throat. You can't tell me that there wasn't a bias in media coverage and in how information about the candidates was passed down to the public. "
— Amanda, 1/12/2014" A good explanation of media bias, the reasons for it, and why media bias is dangerous to the nation. "
— Conrad, 1/8/2014" I enjoyed this book and felt validated that Goldberg put actual numbers to the bias that I was observing during the election. This is a quick read that can't help but make you feel like America got a "fast one" pulled on them. Rated--PG 13 "
— Christy, 12/26/2013" I am loving this book so far, very informative with statements all backed up... "
— Amy, 10/16/2013" If you still think the "mainstream media" is just reporting the news, think again. Excellent, and sometimes LOL funny account of the ugly truth behind the tingle up their leg crowd. "
— Lisa, 10/12/2013" Great book on how the mainstream media help Obama get elected and how bias they are to conservatives. "
— Gus, 9/11/2013" Funny, but not really fresh. I've heard it all on the radio talk shows already. "
— Kimberly, 8/18/2013" What a sad but accurate account of a Free Press that has fallen in love with an "Empty Suit" "No Dues Paid" little Dweeb! No wonder Jesse Jackson wanted to cut his "Nuts" off!!! Jesse was wrong though - Michelle has them!!! "
— Pat, 8/8/2013" If you want to know how the media influenced the 2008election, this book is a must read. It shows how crooks are taking over our country and using money and dishonest tactics to push the agenda of socialism in our country by trashing the constitution. "
— Anne, 9/5/2012" Bernie does it again. This is a quick quick read, funny and sad. "
— Dennis, 8/10/2012" That most of the opinions I had formed about the bias media were true. That liberal journalist don't have a daring destruction plan, but are just naturally snobs. There was much good information to keep abreast of the times. "
— Almawhiting, 4/28/2012" Goldberg does a good job of researching the media's bias for Obama and also the bias against Palin. He lays it out in a way that is easy to read and follow. The only downside is that most of the material I have heard before. "
— Lisa, 3/19/2012" As a disclaimer, those of you who know me well will know that I am a pretty staunch conservative. I didn't particularly enjoy this book, however, as it really just made me angry reliving the tone of the campaign (and pointing out a couple of issues I didn't recognize as well.) "
— Ed, 4/20/2011" This book was a good and quick read that I found thoroughly intriguing, but I marked it low for the language it used. The sad thing is that the worst of the language were direct quotes that helped prove the points the author was making. It's too bad though. "
— Nisa79, 3/28/2011" This is an important book for people who do not realize how much they are being manipulated by the press. It all seemed obvious to me, but maybe there are people out there who don't pay much attention to politics and the way it is packaged by mainstream media. "
— Linda, 9/14/2010" If you still think the "mainstream media" is just reporting the news, think again. Excellent, and sometimes LOL funny account of the ugly truth behind the tingle up their leg crowd. "
— Lisa, 8/6/2010" If you want to know how the media influenced the 2008election, this book is a must read. It shows how crooks are taking over our country and using money and dishonest tactics to push the agenda of socialism in our country by trashing the constitution. "
— Anne, 5/18/2010" A very interesting political book, which I like to read occasionally. I like Bernie's take on things and agree with him often. He's very frank and this is the second book of his I've read. "
— Ginger, 11/21/2009" I loved it. I loved it I loved it I loved it. Thank you, Mr. Goldberg, for saying what so many of us were thinking. Praise be to Goldberg! ;) "
— Amy, 10/1/2009" Interesting. Made me laugh and made me mad! :) "
— Lee, 9/27/2009" I am loving this book so far, very informative with statements all backed up... "
— Amy, 8/23/2009" A good explanation of media bias, the reasons for it, and why media bias is dangerous to the nation. "
— Conrad, 8/20/2009" The Media likes Obama. Got it. Not quite as ground breaking as Bias. "
— Nathan, 6/23/2009" Bernie does it again. This is a quick quick read, funny and sad. "
