The Talbots are evacuating their home amidst a zombie apocalypse. Mankind is on the edge of extinction as a new dominant, mindless opponent scours the landscape in search of food, which just so happens to be noninfected humans. This book follows the journey of Michael Talbot, his wife Tracy, and their three kids, Nicole, Justin and Travis. Accompanying them are Brendon, Nicole's fiancée and former Wal-Mart door greeter, Tommy, who may be more than he seems. Together they struggle against a ruthless, relentless enemy that has singled them out above all others. The Talbots have escaped Little Turtle, but to what end? For, on the run, they find themselves encountering a far vaster evil than the one that has already beset them. As they travel across the war-torn countryside they soon learn that there are more than just zombies to be fearful of; with law and order a long-distant memory, some humans have decided to take any and all matters into their own hands. Can the Talbots come through unscathed, or will they suffer the fate of so many countless millions before them? It's not just brains versus brain-eaters anymore. And the stakes may be higher than merely life and death, with eternal souls on the line.

"Awesome Story, immediately started the next one. At least Mark Tufo starts his new books off just as the old one left off...The adventures of Mike Talbot are moving along. I cannot describe the enjoyment of reading these books, it is the greatest, most intriguing story I've read in a long time." — Jeanne (5 out of 5 stars)

Mark Tufo has written the first zombie series that kept me up reading all night.
" Love, love, LOVE this book and the entire series!!! "
" Nearly gave up on the series at this point after the long and drawn out Maccas experience but I persisted because of the underlying premise of the story. Glad I stuck with it but some of the long winded material needs a bit of an edit to keep the story moving. The 3rd and 4th books have a quicker pace and are better for the change. "
" Wow, this series is hysterical. I love it and Mike Talbot (main character) is funny. "
" What can I say? Great zombie novel. I wasn't a fan of the very beginning of the book, the prologue, but I get why it's there. The rest of the book was awesome though. Gory, funny, and suspenseful, an enjoyable horror read. "
" Follows on well from ZF 1. Starting to build up to a big end in the 3rd which im now reading . "
" look's and sounds stunning can't wait to read it!!!! "
" I wasn't real sure when the *Vampire* was added, but it seems to be working out ok.. And thank goodness we still have Henry!!! "
" I like this series because there is lots of zombie action, which is surprisingly missing from many zombie books. "
" As with the first book I loved this one too. The series just keeps on improving and the writer has a great sense of humor. "
" The fast paced roller coaster ride continues in the second book of the series. "
" Mark Tufo is amazing, the books are so addictive I read them non stop and the buy the next! You will never be disappointed reading his books. "
" Awesome! Just awesome. It is such a great sequel. Keep them coming. "
" I just finished the second Fallout and I will get started on the third. There is enough action and I like the characters enough to keep me interested. I think the sarcasm takes away from the seriousness of the situation. I hope the 3rd book is as good as the first. "
" Really liked both book. I like mark's humor and when/how he talks to the reader. Reminds me of Jim Butcher Dresden files, another favorite of mine. Off to book 3 "
" This series is the absolute best in zombie books. The characters are great and evolve in a believable way. I've read them all and am always anxiously awaiting the next one. You will not be disappointed, Mark will hook you right in. "
" Not as good as the 1st. "
