Publisher Description

Take a trip to Bird-in-Hand, Pennsylvania, where you’ll meet the women of the Kauffman Amish Bakery in Lancaster County. As each woman’s story unfolds, you will share in her heartaches, trials, joys, dreams … and secrets. You’ll discover how the simplicity of the Amish lifestyle can clash with the “English” way of life—and the decisions and consequences that follow. Most importantly, you will be encouraged by the hope and faith of these women, and the importance they place on their families. Miriam Lapp, who left the Amish community of Bird-in-Hand three years ago, is heartbroken when her sister calls to reveal that her mother has died suddenly. Traveling home to Pennsylvania, she is forced to face the heartache from her past, including her rift from her family and the breakup of her engagement with Timothy Kauffman. Her past emotional wounds are reopened when her family rejects her once again and she finds out that Timothy is in a relationship with someone else. Miriam discovers that the rumors that broke them up three years ago were all lies. However, when Timothy proposes to his girlfriend and Miriam’s father disowns her, Miriam returns to Indiana with her heart in shambles. When Miriam’s father has a stroke, Miriam returns to Pennsylvania, where her world continues to fall apart, leaving her to question her place in the Amish community and her faith in God.

"In the third book of the Kauffman Amish Bakery series Miriam Lapp returned to the community after four years of being away. When she left she left a fiance and many angry members behind. She never moved on from Timothy Kauffman and neither did he. I really liked this book. It was one that I couldn't put down. I wanted to see if Timothy and Miriam would get a second chance at love."

" This is by the far the slowest Kaufmann Amish Bakery series book. Overall is was a quick, easy read, enjoyable although a little predictable. "

" I've been sucked into many of the Amish fiction books after being fascinated by the culture. I liked the first in this series but was disappointed in this one. To much back and forth, over the same situation with a predicable outcome. "

" Lots of misunderstandings in this novel and the ending exchange between Miriam and Timothy felt forced. Predictable happy ending. Plus is that family trees were included at the front and I referred to them more than once. "

" This book gives you hope. Can all your pain, emotional stress and unhappiness turn around. If you believe hard enough, can all this and more be corrected. Makes you believe the impossible can happen ... Sometimes. Great book to bring some tears and a smile in your heart. "

" While I enjoy this series, this particular one got a little long - so I skipped the middle to the last 3 chapters. I'm pretty sure this had more to do with me than the plot. Jumping to conclusions and assuming you know what the other person is thinking gets really old after 50 pages or so. "
