" Ancient wisdom distilled into simple and accessible ways. I deepened my meditation knowledge and practice from this book. Feeling encouraged, I went on a retreat and many times I returned to the teachings of Jack Kornfield from this spiritual classic. Read it! "

" A gift to my impermanent self. A wonderful book filled with helpful wisdom that this seeker will use along his path for some time to come. "

" Great book! The only reason I gave it 4 stars is because of his obsession with telling the reader to find a teacher. When you live in the bible belt that is much easier said than done. Aside from that, I love the stories that he tells and he explains things in such a way that it is simple to understand even for the novice student. I would highly recommend it! "

" This book changed my life, much like "Be Free Where You Are." This book is much more in-depth, however. My meditation professor Marvin Belzer used this as the textbook for our course, and even though the chapters assigned for class did not include its entirety, I found myself reading it cover to cover, it was so healing and captivating. "
