Publisher Description

Can you live 28 years without discovering you're a witch?

Lauren is downtown Chicago's youngest elite realtor. She's also a witch. She must be - the fetching spell for Witches' Chat isn't supposed to make mistakes. So says the woman who coded the spell, at least.

The tall, dark, and handsome guy sent to assess her is a witch too (and no, that doesn't end the way you might think). What he finds in Lauren will change lives, mess with a perfectly good career, and require lots of ice cream therapy.

A Modern Witch is a full-length novel, 81,000 words.

The next two books in the series, A Hidden Witch and A Reckless Witch, are coming soon to audio.

"I thoroughly enjoyed this. Such a happy book. A fantasy story about a young witch coming into her powers - set in our familiar contemporary world. Internet forums mixed with magic spells - very charming. Looking forward to the sequel!"

" This was a quick but very enjoyable read; I'm on the 5th book of the series and will miss the characters when the series ends. If you are looking for a nice, comfortable read centered around family then this book would fill the bill! "

" Somehow I managed to finish this book. I fell asleep a lot but I made it to the end...finally. It reads more like a witching manual than a novel. You read a lot about Lauren learning how to use and control her magic but nothing else really happens. Except a lot of eating. I heard that the reason for all of the five star reviews is the offer of another one of these boring books for free. No thanks!! "

" Reading other people's reviews, I got the impression that this was a really excellent book. It wasn't awful and I liked aspects of it. Sweet is a good adjective and fluffy. But as for real substance it was lacking. One thing that stood out to me was the incessant talking about food. Every single time magic was performed it was followed by the eating of large amounts of food and usually sugary food like ice cream. This is not enjoyable at 10pm. If people really ate like that, they'd not be able to get off the couch which was another inanimate object that was frequently talked about. None of the characters were particularly interesting. I think I needed a villain or at least something to counter the fact that every single person in this book was nice. Any conflict at all was mild at best. Not quite my cup of tea. I won't read the rest of the series. "

" Not my usual choice of book but read it anyway. Overall good for a light read not very inspiring and lacking depth. There's no suspense and is all too cosy. "

" Why does everyone love this book? I decided to read it because it has amazing reviews and the story is as cheesy as they come. If you want to read a story about ice cream, then this is the book for you. "
