About the Authors

Travis Macy has snowshoed across Canada’s desolate plains, run across Mexican deserts, and trekked, kayaked, climbed, and swum through horizontal freezing rain in the Scottish highlands. In 2013 he won the Leadman marathon/bike race in the Rockies. He is a sought-after speaker, endurance coach, and writes for UltraRunning magazine, Backpacker magazine, and Trail Runner magazine. He is also a stay-at-home dad and remote high school teacher.

Patrick Regan is the author of numerous books, in genres including biography, history, humor, lifestyle, and children’s. He has collaborated with a long list of artists, athletes, humorists, and photographers and has worked as a freelance editor and manuscript doctor. He writes books for a wide range of private clients, including corporations, foundations, and institutions.

About the Narrators

Rupert Degas is an award-winning narrator and a 2022 recipient of the AudioFile Golden Voice Award. He has won numerous AudioFile Earphones Awards, has recorded the works of Peter Carey, Haruki Murakami, Andy McNab, Darren Shan, and Derek Landy, among others. He has also recorded over fifty radio productions including The Gemini Apes, The Glittering Prizes, This Sceptered Isle, The Ragged Trousered Philanthropists and The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy. He has appeared on film and television in Dead Romantic, EastEnders, Waiting for God, Passport to Murder, Over Here, Fatherland, The Cappuccino Years, Exorcist: The Beginning, Love Soup and Shoot the Messenger. He has also lent his voice to numerous animated films and series including Mr. Bean, Bob the Builder, Robotboy, and The Amazing World of Gumball. Along with several stints in Newsrevue at the Canal Café Theatre and in Edinburgh, he has appeared on the London stage in The Boys Next Door, Are We There Yet?, Becket, Stones in His Pockets, and Patrick Barlow’s adaptation of The 39 Steps. He lives in Sydney, Australia.

Mark Owen is a former member of the US Naval Special Warfare Development Group, commonly known as SEAL Team Six. In his many years as a Navy SEAL, he participated in hundreds of missions around the globe, including the rescue of Captain Richard Phillips in the Indian Ocean in 2009. He was a team leader on Operation Neptune Spear in Abbottabad, Pakistan, on May 1, 2011, which resulted in the death of Osama bin Laden. Owen was one of the first men through the door on the third floor of the terrorist mastermind’s hideout, where he witnessed bin Laden’s death. Mark Owen’s name and the names of the other SEALs mentioned in No Easy Day have been changed for their security.
