The Sisters of Bethlehem Springs series delivers exactly what readers have been waiting for—smart, confident women who are not afraid to defy convention, live their own dreams, and share their lives if the right man comes along. In A Matter of Character, book three in the Sisters of Bethlehem Springs series, it's 1918, and Daphne McKinley, heiress to a small fortune, has found contentment in the town of Bethlehem Springs. But Daphne has a secret. A series of dime novels loosely based on local lore and featuring a nefarious villain known as Rawhide Rick has enjoyed modest popularity among readers. Nobody in Bethlehem Springs knows the man behind the stories … except Daphne. When newspaperman Joshua Crawford comes to town searching for the man who sullied the good name of his grandfather, Daphne finds herself at a crossroads, reassessing the power of her words, re-thinking how best to honor her gifts, and reconsidering what she wants out of life.

"Dauphne was a delightful character. It was fun to hear this author writing about a girl who wanted to write "dime-store novels". Joshua and Dauphne's romance was very sweet as was all the Bethlehem Springs girls. I enjoyed this series very much. I look forward to reading more of Hatcher's work."

" This was a nice story, but not what I'd call a grabber. "
— Lisa, 2/11/2014" This was nice. I was frustrated at one point with Joshua's pigheadedness and temper but he redeemed himself. The characters were great and I think I might actually enjoy the first two books of the series more than this one "
— Candace, 11/26/2013" Pleasant enough story. A little too simplistic. There are better books by this author. "
— Barbara, 11/13/2013" It is a very sweet love story, set in the beautiful Idaho landscape. The heroine is a self-reliant, independent young woman -- in a day when women were expected to rely on a man and definitely be dependent. She has a secret. He has a secret. When will each tell the other. "
— Sylviastewart1, 6/25/2013" Another good book...this one actually made me cry. I really enjoyed this series. "
— Lonnie, 2/5/2012" As good and well written as the 2 previous books in the series. Really enjoyed reading about Daphne and her family. "

— Kelly, 12/7/2010" Pleasant enough story. A little too simplistic. There are better books by this author. "
— Barbara, 11/3/2010" I started to read it as I found an idea of this book could develop an interesting plot. However in the middle of book it became so plain and predictable that I had to forced myself to finish it. <br/>This author have a few brilliant book, but this one not one of them. "
— Elena, 10/12/2010" I read this book in response to a review I read on Becky's Book Reviews. I enjoyed it although I thought the middle dragged a bit. "
