Author Joan D. Vinge

Joan D. Vinge, a two-time Hugo Award–winning author, has written nearly twenty novels and several dozen short stories. She has had a number of bestselling film adaptations published, including the bestselling The Return of the Jedi Storybook and novelizations of LadyhawkeMad Max Beyond ThunderdomeReturn to Oz, Willow, and Cowboys & Aliens. She lives in Madison, Wisconsin.

About the Narrators

Alan Alda is an American actor, director, screenwriter, and author. A six-time Emmy Award and Golden Globe Award winner, he played Hawkeye Pierce for eleven years in the television series M*A*S*H and has acted in, written, and directed many feature films. He has starred often on Broadway, and his avid interest in science has led to his hosting PBS’s Scientific American Frontiers for eleven years. He was nominated for an Academy Award in 2005 and has been nominated for thirty Emmy awards.

Christina Delaine has trod many boards, including the ones at the Public Theater, Trinity Repertory Company, Actors Theater of Louisville, Ensemble Studio Theater, and Peterborough Players. Her favorite gigs include Jewtopia and the title role in Antigone at both Portland Center Stage and the Kentucky Repertory Theater. She holds a BA from Dartmouth College and an MFA in acting from Brown University.
