About the Authors

Jill Weisenberger is a certified diabetes educator and registered dietitian who has counseled thousands of individuals wishing to develop healthier habits and live healthier lives. Her articles and recipes have appeared in a variety of publications including Diabetic Living, Diabetes Monitor, and EatingWell.

Scott A. Cunneen is director of bariatric surgery at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles. He received his medical degree from Georgetown University, where he was awarded membership in Alpha Omega Alpha, the medical honor society.

Nancy Sayles Kaneshiro is a freelance writer and publicist based in Los Angeles.

Stephanie A. Dunbar holds a bachelor of science degree from West Virginia University and a master of public health in nutrition degree from the University of Michigan. She is currently the director of medical affairs at the American Diabetes Association and lives in Virginia.

Cassandra L. Verdi holds a BS in dietetics from Miami University and a master’s in public health from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She is currently the associate director of medical affairs at the American Diabetes Association and lives in Washington, DC.
